Frisco 32-in Real Carpet Solid Wood Cat Tree with Toy, Beige

I work from home and my cat was using a stack of cardboard boxes to sleep next to me all day, so I wanted to get her a tree to sit next to me that is more stable and truly meant for her. She loves this tree so much, and I do as well! It is the same height as my desk, so she's right next to me all day long, which is basically her dream come true. Some small cons for me - it has a really strong smell upon opening, and it is still kind of there 2 weeks later. Also, I had ordered beige, but it looks nothing like the photo. It's like a cross between grey and beige, actually. Not a deal breaker for me, but definitely not the light tan color I thought I was getting.

This is what happened within 5 seconds of me getting it out of the box and placing it in my house. I had to carry it up my stairs with Ophelia in the top tray because she refused to get out. As soon as I set it down, Vincent came running up the stairs and sat in the bottom tray. Then Hyde made his way up to check out the new tower. It is perfect for our house! Not too big and just the right size to put in front of our window. If any of you have ever read any of my other reviews, and especially my review of the high nutrition cat food gel, my cat Vincent, the orange Manx on the bottom tray, had a cardiac arrest and was without a heartbeat for 20 minutes, but was miraculously revived after 20 minutes of CPR. He came home and they thought he would be brain-damaged and blind forever because he was blind after he revived. But he is a miracle! He’s back to normal and his sight even came back after about 3 weeks! So I wanted to make sure and get him something that he could sit on and watch the birds in the tree and the chipmunks on the telephone wires and the dogs go by. I have another little tower in the other window of the room, but I thought this one would be nice as two cats could be on it and still see out at the same time. My cats are already loving this. I’m not sure if they’ll use the scratch posts as they seem to prefer my furniture. But I have high hopes! It seems sturdy and Ophelia the black-and-white cat has a little more room to lounge around than Vincent, but Vincent’s a bigger boy. I believe he is 13 pounds. So that can kind of give you an idea of what size this is. I really like how it’s sturdy with the three legs for a base and it’s carpeted very nicely and the scratch posts are very nice as well. I don’t think I was paying enough attention when I bought it to realize that it came with a little ball hanging from the top tray, but that is a nice touch and my cats have already been playing with it. I would definitely recommend this tower! I was going to go with a tower that was about half this price that I had previously bought from chewy but I’m glad that I went with this double-decker with plenty of room. After all that Vincent went through, he definitely deserves to be spoiled! He is one of my four cats and I’m sure they will all enjoy it! I would rate this 5 star and was especially pleased that it was already assembled! Other towers that I have bought were easy enough to assemble, but the fact that I could take it out of the box and just pop it right onto the ground was a huge plus for me and a huge plus for the cats as they wanted to get into it immediately. Three years ago we bought this same cat tree for our two cats. Over time it showed wear and tear as expected, so we bought a replacement. The carpet on the new tree is pulling up and shredding in only two weeks! The quality of the carpet is less durable than before, and the cats are pulling out the short staples used to attach it. Husband used a staple gun with longer staples to try to stop the destruction, but shreds of carpet keep coming loose. I love this design and the cats do too. It's stable and doesn't scratch the wood floor when we move it to clean, but the materials used are sub par.
