Two cats like it, has an odor
I selected this cat tree because I will be removing an old chair one cat sleeps on, and I'm hoping she will claim this as hers. She is a somewhat large (17lbs) feline that needs the space the middle and upper levels will give her. So far, she has only used the middle level. Our smallest fluffball (7lbs) likes the floor level space to hide in and the middle level. My third kitty won't go near it. As others have noted, the tree arrives with a strong chemical odor. For a week or so I placed it outdoors hoping that would dissipate. It has, almost. I still get a whiff every once in a while of it still. Could be why my third girl avoids it. I also had to use some catnip to bribe them for the initial use. Only my little one (who came to us declawed) uses the scratcher part. The others are too used to destroying the sofa. The carpet is rougher than I would like, and there are quite a few threads poking out, this is likely from the unraveling of the carpet edges. I'll cut them off and see how it holds up to claws. The tree is compact, a great height for looking out the siding door or window and seems very stable. I do not believe even my big girl will tip it over should she decide to make a leap for the upper seat. None are interested in the hanging toy (all 3 are 10+). That may be better suited to a kitten or younger cat. I bought the gray and its a nice color, not obtrusive. I came fully assembled which is a +.
Strong and sturdy cat tree
I searched probably all the cat trees offered on Chewy and thought this tree was the one that fit the best for my long cat. The tree arrived all set up. My cat absolutely loved it. He smelled it everywhere, used the cat scratch, jumped to the top and stayed there. The tree is nearly the height of the kitchen island, which is where he happily focuses his attention during the day, takes his naps and where he goes at bedtime.
It’s nice but..
It’s nice and looks really good but my cat hates it. It’s not like his last one so I had to get catnip and rub it on it so he sits on it more. I was looking for a car tree with a big top as I have a really big cat. But he doesn’t fit to lie down and stretch out. This is better for kittens, smaller cats. If I could return it I would.
They love it!
I previously had an attached window ledge bed but my cat pushed the screen out and was stuck on my roof. We reinforced the screen but he really loved the spot since it was fun to look out the window and lay in the sun. I order this cat tree which is the perfect height that matched the window but now when he lays on this he isn’t even near the screen so he’s much safer!!
The absolute best!
I am so happy I purchased this from Chewy. It is the sturdiest and the most well constructed tower I’ve bought. I rescued a mama and four babies and they are very hard on things, but not this. It’s absolutely the best. I only wish it came in larger sizes!!
Not worth the price
On a positive note, this comes assembled. It was shorter than I expected but the real issue lies with quality. The carpet is not durable and comes apart very easily. My cat is a carpet scratcher. Few days and carpet completely coming apart. I had a previous tree ( different manufacturer) that lasted years.
Greatpurchase
I actually bought this item with my older cat in mind, so he could lie on it when in our bedroom. I have two other towers, but it seems like my two younger cats have taken them over! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the tower and ALL my cats LOVE it! It definitely was a GREAT buy for the money!
Sturdy kitty bed scratching post combo
This was a good buy for the price. The product is heavy and very sturdy. Plus, it came already assembled! My only complaint is that an inferior quality of multi-color shag carpet was used. The result being it didn't match as well as I had hoped and that carpet won't last long. The corners are already de-shagged after just one week. From the picture, I thought it would be better, thicker carpet. My beasties haven't seemed to notice that particular aspect, however, as they love it! I've already ordered a second one.
Wow is all I can say!
So glad that I purchased this item for our 2 kitties. It comes fully assembled, so take out of box and it's ready to go. Our curious cat checked it out first and it has become her favorite perch. Would highly recommend this item to anyone, it is well built for larger sized cats.
Great quality, large sections
This is the 2nd one I purchased. Unfortunately I had to leave the old one behind when we moved. My cats definitely missed it when we moved into our new home. They are on it everyday. I love that each section is large enough to accommodate my fatty cat of 16 + pounds, to my skinny cat under 9 lbs. It's super sturdy and durable. Highly recommend.
