Frisco 64-in Cat Tree with Hammock, Condo, 2 Top Perches with Bed, Dark Charcoal

We have 2 young adult female cats, and 1 male kitten. The have enjoyed this tree. They mainly use it to sleep in and sometimes to look out the window. Speaking of that, I wish the top platform/nest was as close to the window as the other one. It sits further back, but they can still see out. My daughter put it together fairly quickly. The only thing that gave her any problem was the apartment. The tree had a slight chemical odor at first, but I didn’t notice it for long. I had to wash one of the platform covers recently and I let it air dry. I was able to put it back on with no problem, no shrinkage. I do wish all the carpet on the tree was able to be taken off and washed. Maybe that’s asking too much. That first level(closet to the floor) is quite high, but our cats are young, so they haven’t had a problem. The tree is stable and I don’t think there’s any danger of it falling or anything. I only had 2 issues with this tree. The 2 top platforms/nests , are only large enough for 1 adult cat to fit in comfortably. Our orange female is the largest, and she’s about 10lbs. We have another shorter cat tree, and both adults can fit into that nest at the same time, and sleep together. They tried that with this tree and one of them fell out. The other problem, which I’d like to warn people about is the hanging tassel in the photo, that screws into a platform. It could possibly cause a cat serious problems. I noticed recently that there was something weird in some of the cat poop. It almost looked like rough thread or straw. I couldn’t figure it out. Then I saw our black cat Sheba Star gnawing on that hanging tassel. I immediately unscrewed it and put it away. I also saw some pieces of it in the hammock. I would suggest just throwing that piece in the trash. This is a good tree for the price, and I don’t regret purchasing it.
