The 26 Qt container may hold up to 20-24 lbs. and the 16 Qt may hold up to 12-13 lbs. The storage capacity is calculated on total volume so capacity may vary based on kibble size, brand, etc.

Is it safe to pour the food directly into the container, or should it be in a bag? I Worry about toxic chemicals and such seeping into the food.

This food storage canister passed FDA testing for food contact. The pet food or treats can safety be placed inside the canister without a bag.

Love the finish quality of this storage canister so much we took it out of the closet we had been storing our dry dog food to display in our kitchen. Our dog was nosing her way into the closet and had gnawed on the previous canister that was made of plastic. We repaced that one with this one and it is heavy enough that she hasn’t tried to get into it. She is a small dog. Love the look and is working great for storing her food. We purchase 15 lbs of dry at a time and we are very happy with our purchase.

Perfect Container

I buy purina 15 lbs dog food, this container holds it all perfectly with room for the scoop in there. The seal came off when I washed it but was easy to put back
