Slow feed bowl
It works! It really slowed him down. He used to gobble down his food so fast, and then sometimes it would come back up and be barely chewed. That isn’t happening anymore. It does slide around on my tile floors, tho. Even on his placemat it slides. But he gets a little extra exercise chasing it around, so that’s a good thing!
Frisco Fish Shaped Ridges Slow Feeder Bowl
This bowl is a good size for a cat and easy to clean however it is too light and my cats push it around the floor and make a mess while eating from it. Will order a heavier more substantial bowl.
Best slow feeder for cats and small dogs
Our 4 year old cat has been vomiting up non chewed undigested dry food weekly for a long time. We didn’t know how to help him. He just eats so fast he doesn’t even chew. Then we tried the Frisco Fish shaped slow feeder bowl. Wow! What an amazing idea & product. He loves it. It’s like a fun little puzzle for him & he hasn’t vomited since we started using it. He scoops out one kibble at a time. At first they both dragged it around a few inches because it’s lightweight & they are big cats. After a day of figuring it out they stopped doing that. It’s just Perfect. It’s attractive too. Our 10 year old cat had to have one too so we ordered more. A couple for upstairs too. We tried a stainless one with a rubber ring around the bottom to keep it from moving but they let us know they definitely prefer their little blue fish dish much much better.
Great for the price
Nice bowl for the price! Easily washed in the dishwasher, holds more than most similarly-priced cat bowls, and has thoughtful divots on the sides to easily lift it up. Four stars because it's not really a -slow- feeder due to the large space in the center. If your cat is sensitive to whisker fatigue I would not recommend slow feeders at all.
Great slow feeder for small dog
We just inherited an 18 year old Maltese mix (10#) that is mostly blind but loves to eat and needed to lose a few pounds (his owner died unexpectedly). This slows down his eating just right but isn't too difficult for him to use. I place it in a small box to raise it since he has some neurological issues with his neck. It's just the right size for his snout to get the food with a little work on his part and he has lost 1.5# with more exercise, smaller portions and this bowl to keep him engaged.
Not quite what I was hoping for
This bowl is advertised as a slow-feeder. There is a blank space in the middle of the bowl where there are no fish. You have to move the food to the outsides where the fish are to use the slower feeding features. I was disappointed that it wasn’t actually a slow-feeder. I’ll read more carefully next time I buy. I probably won’t buy online.
Works surprisingly well on wet food.
I bought this to try and slow down my cat and stop him from eating everyone else’s wet food. It works a little too well for him and he’s tried to switch to someone else’s bowl, but it’s doing 90% of what I wanted. I’ve used it with both pate and “grilled” wet food and he’s gotten as much out of the bowl as he would a normal plate, it just takes longer. I do wish it had a non-skid base, but for the price I’m willing to get a mat somewhere else.
Big Manx who inhales food... no more
My big male Manx cat tends toward being over-weight, begs constantly and inhales his food. Put a small amount of kibble in the slow feed bowl. 10 minutes later he is still trying to get every last morsel. I think this is going to work, very well. Recommend for beggars and food inhalers.
Mister Kitty's bowl
This bowl is so cute and so easy to clean! Mister Kitty loves to eat out of it and he doesn't scarf down the food like he used to.
It real does work.
I was skeptical about this bowl but I ordered it anyways because I have one kitty that eats way too fast and too much at one time and therefore it makes her sick. It helps her eat slower and she doesn’t eat as much. It has helped her from getting sick as often. I would order this bowl again.
