I purchased the xsmall crate for my mini-daschund puppy, I should have bought the next size up. I can fit a small bed in there for him with just a little room left on the floor no matter which end I put the bed in. He does like it and goes in on his own. I found the crate to be no more difficult to set up then any other metal folding crate. I always latch both latches on the door though just to make sure the crate does not bend out of shape. Somethimes the latches can be a little difficult to open or close. Overall I do like the crate for the cost.
Overall, this crate is great for our boxer puppy. We got the Large (42 inch) crate for when she gets older, but have the divider in making it the Small (24 inch) crate recommended for puppies from our breeder. She seems to not mind going in it at all. It is VERY hard to latch/unlatch. We have been using this for 2 weeks, and I still haven't quite figured out the trick. She did her per paw stuck near the tray hole the first time she stepped out of the crate, but was able to free it herself. She got her mouth stuck on the side once, but I was home to help her. Hopefully she won't do that when no one is home!
Love the size of the crates! I ordered two 30” crates to downsize from old 42” crates. The pan slides out easily, and assembly didn’t take long. My dogs have taken to them quickly! Chewy helped us out with a shipping address mistake on my part, which I can’t thank them enough for. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the crates BOTH had an integral piece bent out of place - not sure if it’s shipping or manufacturing, but it was the same piece on both - making the back crate panel impossible to snap into place. I was able to remedy the problem with pliers and brute force, and we love the crates otherwise, but something to be aware of!
Ordered this crate for my growing pup on Tuesday and received it today. Chewy is the best when it comes to prompt delivery of orders. The crate is sturdy and strong and is the perfect size. The only problem that I have is with the latch locks. They are absolutely horrible. Almost impossible to slide and I have to jiggle and shimmy to get them into place. Won’t return because I really need it for my dog as she has completely outgrown the medium crate but will have to figure something out to keep the door closed. Frisco REALLY NEEDS to work on the lock mechanism for these crates. Other than the lock it’s perfect
I worried for not that this crate might die because of the price, but no problems at all. Easy to set up, and I love having the two doors. It’s probably a little big for my 7 pound Shorkie, but I like to leave his food and water bowl. a pee pad and with comfortable bed. The 30 inch like was the perfect size.
It seems sturdy enough, I guess. The top of the crate dips. The latches are terrible. Honestly awful, it’s impossible to lock and unlock the crate. I’ve gone through many crates for my dogs and this is possibly the worst and most frustrating one I’ve owned. It’s too big and heavy for me to return so I guess I have to keep it.
I’ve bought this crate before a few years back and wanted to buy another for my other dog. This time both pins on the door are very hard to get in and out. I’ve never had this issue with Frisco crates. Hoping it’s just one that slipped through quality control and not how they all are now. I’ve used it for months and it has not loosened up.
