We bought this for our 13 year old lab as a save space for her during thunderstorms. We live in SW Florida and there are daily thunderstorms in the summer. During a storm Libby would try to “hide” in corners of the house and get herself stuck or trapped behind furniture or cables. She even chewed a cable one time when we were out. Now she has a safe place to go during a storm. We have it in the bedroom with her dog bed inside it. We leave the door open and have it covered with a sheet. It took a couple of days for her to get used to it but now she’s very comfortable in there and we feel confident that it is safer to leave her alone during the summer/storming months
I have never owned a wire crate before but got a puppy who loves to eat the baseboards of my house and the wooden slats of the new gate I purchased from Chewy. This crate is Easy to put together and very sturdy! I put a crate pad down and left the door open and my puppy loves going in there to lay down which makes it very easy to just close her in when I need to leave the house. She cannot eat her way out of it like she did the wooden gate!! Highly recommend!
Love that it folds away when needed but it's secure enough to contain my dog
I have an American Staffordshire Terrier and he had the strength to not be contained if he doesn't want. Fortunately, this crate provides him a safe and secure place that he doesn't seem to mind. The bottom tray is thick and durable so I don't worry about my aggressive chewer making a snack out of it. It's super easy to collapse and slide away when extra space is needed.
Bought the wrong size but Chewy had my back
I bought the 36" crate for my 5 month old aussie and I didn't realize he is growing like a weed. His old crate was 21" tall and he had to crane his neck and back to stand so I thought 25" would be better but his head is maybe an inch from the top. Anyway, I contacted customer service to return it and the guy on the phone was super nice and helped me out. The crate itself looks nice and does its job well.
Great once the divider was freed!
Wonderful, sturdy kennel, but the divider was hung-up between the tray and door and it took two people with a large screwdriver and hammer 30 minutes to get it loose. Super frustrating. There should be an option to purchase the kennel with no divider. I have 4 of these and have no use ever for a divider.
A must have!
Originally bought this cage to crate train my three month old labrador retriever. At 11 months old, this thing is still the best. I got the 42 inch, and it is a great fit for him. He is now 65 pounds, and has room to stretch out, and even has room for a bowl. He likes to personally curl up, but I have no issue with the product. We frequently use the side door as opposed to the front door, so I love that this has both. I highly recommend this product. I had no issues setting up or taking it down, it folds very nicely.
New pet crate
The crate is very big, i might but the divider in it because Chanel is only 4 months old but she will grow into it for sure. She is a lab and pit mix, very cute. She loves her babies and her blanket. I also ordered a mat to go in it but it hasnt shipped yet. The box was very heavy and hard to open thats why I put 4 stars.
Great for my dog
My dog is calm and just sleeps while in the crate so this works amazing for her. I have a medium sized pit terrier mix and I have the 42 inch so she can spread out like she does in her sleep. My brothers boxer mix also fits the same size comfortably. It is easy to fold, just follow instructions, and it's not super light but it's easily carried around. If you have a dog that will try to break out or jump around the crate, you probably need a crate specifically made for that. My brother's dog twisted part of the bottom trying to get out during a thunderstorm. We're still able to use it but as a heads up to pet parents with dogs trying to break out. Also, properly crate train your dog and they shouldn't be trying to break out. Overall amazing and I love these crates!
Amazing crate for large breed dogs.
Purchased this for my 16 week old Presa Canario and he is one happy pup. Can't beat the price for the size of the crate. I paid way more for the smaller one that he recently outgrew. Crate arrived in great condition and was easy to assemble. As always, Chewy has lightning fast, free shipping. Chewy is the only place for all your pet needs!
good dog crate
We bought this when we got our puppy. He is now only 12lbs as we later found out he was the runt. We bought the large size crate. It is much more space than he actually needs but I wanted to make sure he never felt cramped in there. He seems to be comfortable in it. It serves its purpose and has stayed in good shape. We have now had it for two years. Never had problems with it. It is his home crate. We travel with a separate one that is light weight. I would not recommend traveling with this. I imagine it would be hard and bulky. However if that is not a concern this is functional. We have had no problems with it.
