LOVE this toy! Saw some reviews that said you should start with the moderate depending on the intelligence of your dog's breed - I'm glad I did, because my coonhound figured this one out in around 5-10 minutes. That's the perfect time though, just long enough to keep him busy sniffing without getting frustrated and losing interest. My only suggestion is I wish they made a bigger version for "giant" breeds. My dog's 80lbs and this toy is juuuuust big enough for him, but a little awkward to use his giant paws on the buttons. He mostly uses his nose to move them around while he's sniffing.
I am going to be honest, I thought my dog wouldnt be smart enough for this toy. It took around 10 tries till my 7 lb pom was able to master this. The first try, she needed some help figuring out the center portions, by the 4th try it took her about an hour to do. Now it takes her 2 minutes to complete the full puzzle. She loves it and it tires her out. I just ordered the expert level to work on next. I would definitely recommend if you have a very hyper dog or puppy who is treat motivated.
My dog didn’t struggle at all on how to find the treats on the outside ring. The ones on the inside ring are a little harder because they have to figure out how to spin the plate. My dog enjoys it though and it’s fun to watch him find the treats.
Our puppy is an 8-month-old Lab/Hound mix . . . he solved it under 5 minutes . . . all of it! The second time was even faster! It doesn't really keep him very occupied.
My little girl ❤️'s this puzzle game. I love it because she is an extreme chewer and with this one she can't pull off pieces easily. I do supervise all her play with it tho as it is plastic and she would probably destroy it otherwise. But definitely a great toy. She has mastered the easy level and we are working on level 2 now which is the green spinning dial in the middle. Lots of supervised fun time where we sit on the floor together (and I don't have to run around!)
I got this for my 3 month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy to help keep her stimulated. She unfortunately had it figured out in seconds, but she still loves it! She gets excited when she sees me grab it to fill with goodies. She hasn’t 100% figured out the center yet, but she’s definitely getting close!
My dog had no problem finding the treats in the sliding components of the puzzle. The wheel was very hard for my dog to move. She just kind of gave up. She is only an 18 pound dog so maybe this puzzle would be easier for a bigger dog?
My dog figured out the outer/orange compartments pretty fast but the white/ wheel part gave him fits for awhile! He's pretty much figured it out now though.
Toby loves his new puzzle toy. He’s the first dog I’ve bought a puzzle for, and it’s as entertaining for me watching him find the treats as it is for him. He’s caught on quickly how to work the puzzle (with some help at first). Now he gets really excited when I go to load the puzzle with training treats every afternoon. It’s been great for him on hot summer days stuck indoors.
My younger dog figured it out way too easily. My older dog was only mildly interested for a few seconds. . I don’t like paying so much for something I’ll now just give away.
