Will this bed help stray cat stay warm outdoors in winter in a enclosed cat house?

Straw (not hay) is a better option for outdoor cats. Fabrics get wet from the environment and/or the cat getting in with wet fur. They become soggy and cold and can lead to hypothermia.

I live in Central Virginia and it's been in the teens and 20s, lately. My outdoor cats have more than enough warm houses to accommodate all of them, plus several beds on top of their houses where they can lounge around. I bought two of the Frisco Sherpa Self-Warming High-Walled Bolster Small Cat Beds a couple of weeks ago and, as soon as I put one on the ground, one of the cats jumped in it. When she hopped out, I placed the beds on top of their kitty houses, where I had planned for the beds to stay. Later that night, I looked out the window, to check on the cats, and saw the same cat curled up in one of the beds. A few nights later, I looked out and saw her in the same bed, only this time she had her son in the bed with her. I should mention that mama cat is normal kitty sized...around 7-8 pounds. Her son, however, is huge. He's tall, long, and heavy. He's probably 15-17 pounds. Both fit in the bed comfortably and, because the bed is so tall, they still had about 3 or 4 inches of the side of the bed above them. They were tucked down in there, all cozy and warm. I have checked on the cats, in this bed, by sticking my hands down in the bed next to them and I can tell you that they do get very warm in this bed. I have this bed out in the open because my cats are little weirdos. They don't like to spend the entire night in their houses unless it's very windy or in the teens or single digits (or lower!). Their houses have self-heating beds by Frisco as well, but not this version.

Bed is okay but it’s permanently creased from shipping

The bed itself might have been okay bit unfortunately how it was shipped it was vacu-sealed in a way that it is permanently creased so it’s basically always folded

If they would it would expand fine but because it’s folded in on itself they have no interest in trying to lay in it. I’ve tried stretching it out but it just goes back to the misshapen oval as soon as I let go.

When this first arrived I thought it might be too deep, and it seemed like both cats agreed. But they quickly decided it was a good nap spot, and seemed to like how they could hunker down and be hidden, but then pop their head up to see what was going on. Then my 18+ year old female started to go downhill quickly-old age, etc.- and she chose this bed as the spot she would spend her final few days sleeping in. She seemed comforted to be in it. Now I'm going to buy another one for the younger male cat.

They liked it for a week

This was smaller than I thought and tipped over when my cats first tried to climb in. But then I placed it against some chairs so it didn't tip over and they loved

This was smaller than I thought and tipped over when my cats first tried to climb in. But then I placed it against some chairs so it didn't tip over and they loved it for about a week. Now they are uninterested (typical of all beds I have tried). Some of the fluff did get pulled pretty quickly. And I had to wipe it down to fight fleas and noticed the fluff layer is pretty thin and can't really be scrubbed.
