Our indoor cat is very brush averse. After trying numerous types over the years we finally found this one she tolerates. She is short haired orange cat with A LOT of hair. The brush does not fill up with hair as some other brushes might, but most of those have tines that she doesn't like scraping her body. These are soft and rubber. So it's a trade off, at least we can get some hair off her now!
It’s comfortable to use and my dog likes it more than the wire brush. Doesn’t help much with shedding at all, my dog has medium length fur with an undercoat and it barely removes any fur. It does a good job at detangling hair (I’m not sure about long fur, but I think it would be fine) so I’m not completely disappointed. I mainly use it as maintenance to keep her coat looking tidy and prevent mats, but if she’s shedding I have to use the older wire brush. If you’re looking for an all purpose brush I wouldn’t recommend, but for basic maintenance and detangling it does the job.
I purchased 2 of these brushes thinking would remove routine hair from my lab and yorkipoo. The brushed have a comfortable handle but they don’t remove the hair. I even tried brushing my cat and didn’t get much hair off even though could see loose hairs on her coat. Too bad chewy doesn’t have a return policy.
I bought this brush, thinking it would be a great brush to use daily for my 3 dogs. It’s not. The rounded ends prevent it from actually getting any hair. And I have a German shepherd and we all know they shed like crazy but this got absolutely no hair.
I have been searching for a brush like this for a long time now! It works great on my pets with long fur but it struggles to catch any fur on my cats with short fur. I love this brush for gathering fur. Another thing I notice is it’s not the best for getting out tangles from fur but it’s amazing at collecting.
My husky loves this brush! It doesn’t remove a lot of hair, but I can tell it feels great for him so I usually use it after using a brush for the shedding such as a rake or the ring brush. He rolls over on his back to get this one on his belly!
I have a Westie and they have thick hair that tangles and mats easily. I brushed him with this brush and all the mats came out easily without hurting him. It was easy on his skin and worked. He liked it so much, when I was done, he grabbed the brush and an all through the house with joy.
This is an easy to hold brush and my shedding dog likes the rounded tips, it doesn't scratch or hurt him, but it also doesn't remove or catch as much hair as the sharper brushes do. It's a trade off, but my sweet pup likes it very much.
It's a great brush and I think I prefer it over a brush that doesn't have plastic-coated pins but I wish it had the feature that would push the fur out of the bristles to make clean up easier.
Definitely would not recommend for a long haired dog… the bristles are very weak. Does not even lift hair from normal shedding.
