Can this be hooked to a tree or deck railing instead of a stake?

Select a site that is level and free of all obstructions. Attach one snap hook to containment device. Use with a Dome, Spiral Stake, or attach to itself around a tree. Attach the other snap hook to the d-ring on your dog's collar or harness.

This tie out cable is made of galvanized steel with a protective cover It’s recommended to store indoors when not in use.

How thick is the cable? Most I find are only 3mm. I am looking for a 6mm cable.

This cable is just the right length so that Mya has access to most of the driveway and a great deal of the front yard. She sits patiently out there waiting for neighbors to walk by, with and without their dogs (the majority of them carry small treats) and the cable allows her sufficient room to run and play. I am confident that the cable will hold her as she is a very very strong dog.

Sturdy

Perfect for winter because it's nice and heavy and when it freezes slow zero I won't need to worry it'll snap in half. It's very long so my dog can go in and out

Chain is very sturdy

The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is the clip that you connect to your dogs collar rusted In the first couple days after it was outside. Still functional but

Great product, a little dangerous with our dog though

Our dog is big and excited, the color of it is the same as the paved driveway so it’s hard to see if we walk there and she runs around us. But very good quality

Long-lasting and sturdy.

I think you could tie up a bear with this one! My 1-year-old chocolate lab likes to rip and run back and forth yanking her tie out cable each time. Others have snapped

I think you could tie up a bear with this one! My 1-year-old chocolate lab likes to rip and run back and forth yanking her tie out cable each time. Others have snapped after a week, but this one is still holding strong! I have high hopes for this one lasting longer than 2 years.

Good, strong, cable.

My staffy likes to lunge at various things when we're camping. This thing is very tough and it doesn't seem to tangle like other heavy cable tie up leashes.

The cable is very strong and does a very good job.

The only problem that I have with this and other cables is the clip. For a reason I cannot fathom, every once in a long while, the dogs will move their heads just

The only problem that I have with this and other cables is the clip. For a reason I cannot fathom, every once in a long while, the dogs will move their heads just the right way, and the clip pops off. Now this has only ever happened with my smaller dogs that wiggle alot. I do find that if I fiddle with the clip and make sure it is closed and sort of move it side to side in the closed position, this never happens. Hopefully, that is helpful to anyone who buys this and has a very wiggly dog.
