Dens to Curl Up in

For the Big Dogs

The XX-Large is roomier than Frisco's Fold & Carry Crates to accommodate the biggest dog in your household. It's great for giant breeds over 90 pounds such as Great Danes, Mastiffs or Saint Bernards. There are two large doors for easy access and heavy-duty wire gauge for extra security.

Built for Safety

Keeping your pet safe is the most important feature of Frisco Crates. The sturdy wire panels have rounded corners and a durable black electro-coating. Each door locks securely with three L-shaped, slide-bolt safety latches for the ultimate protection.

All the Comforts of Home

A dog's den should be his castle—a place where he can relax. Frisco crates come with a plastic base pan to cover the wire floor and keep things clean. But you can also add a Frisco Crate Mat to make his den even more comfortable. This quilted fleece bed is made from soft Sherpa material with a foam cushion bottom and thick bolster to make your pet feel at home in his den.

  • I don’t love it :(

Yes, it huge. But because of that it has an entirely different assembly than the smaller versions. The sides are loosely together with metal rods at the 4 corners. The latches were off/tight would barely slide in, there were scratches & bent places that made it very difficult to put together. It just didn’t seem to line up right, it sorta shifts even after assembly. It’s incredibly heavy which suggests sturdiness but because of the way the panels don’t lock in place anyway it doesn’t feel that way. The price is great for the size, and it fills a need. There is NO divider in the 54”! I also bought the 42” and that is much better with the exception of the latches. Those ones are the opposite; very Yes, it huge. • Very Spacious & Well Designed

Received the Crate really fast, the directions call for having two people to assemble & even so I decided not to wait & assembled it alone, however it would have been much easier having the other set of hands, it is possible to do alone. The biggest thing to consider is that during the assembly you are required to lie each of the sides down flat (one at a time) alongside the bottom to connect them & then lift them upright into place. This method requires a good bit more room to assemble than the crate actually occupies, & once assembled the crate will not fit through most door thresholds so as long as the room you plan to keep it in has adequate room for assemble you will be fine. • Massive crate

    By on

My one-year-old GSD-lab mix outgrew his 48" crate and this size was the only option that would allow him to sit and stand up completely without hitting his head. It is HUGE, as you can tell from the dimensions, but he now has plenty of room to grow. I'm a petite woman and I set it up by myself. It wasn't bad; the only difficult part (and the reason for a four-star review instead of five) is that some of the parts were bent, and I had to use pliers to bend them back so they'd fit in place. It's such a heavy crate that it must be hard to ship, but I hope that eventually Chewy finds a sturdier box to ship it in so that it arrives undamaged. Overall, it's a great value. • Very large, but not as sturdy as expected...

This crate is massive, which is great for a Great Dane. We needed the height, but we could easily fit three of them in it. As for construction, some of the metal wires were bent pretty severely in shipping. If we had a cage aggressive dog who charged the door, we might be in trouble due to everything not fitting together very tightly. Thankfully, he doesn’t test his strength. I have not had any other brands in this size, so I can't compare quality to other same sized crates. Overall, it works great for us.

  • great purchase!

My GSD puppy started growing out of his kennel poor guy couldn't sit up in it and would hunch over. I wanted him to be as comfortable as can be and figured buy a bigger one so it last and he absolutely loved this! He's a crazy sleeper it helps for that! I would recommend to anyone with a bigger breed of dog! It takes some time to put together but it's quite easy but definitely need second pair of hands.

  • Really Big Crate

I am writing the review even though my wife ordered this crate. I told her we needed a 48 in crate for our German Shepherd - Molly. She only weighs about 60-65 lbs now at almost 2 years but she is tall as other GSDs. When the crate arrived I was shocked at the size of this 54 in. It did take 2 people to put together but I could have done it by myself if I needed to. I can see why some people had issues with assembly as my helper seemed to always have things either upside down or backwards. We are very pleased with the outcome. I did use a pliers on a couple spots to bend the wires into place as they did get bent in shipping. Also purchased the bed liner to fit it and it is loved by our GSD. She would rather lay on the floor or in her crate with the door open than on a fluffy bed like our other little dog, a Mini Schnauzer. Since Molly was kennel trained at a very early age she never gave us any trouble with chewing on it or trying to get out. It is sturdy as any other kennels I have seen. Just make sure you assemble it in the room to stay as it isn't going thru any single doorway. So far everything from Chewy has been A+. … more

  • Great deal!

Product is as advertised and has upgraded latches. Price was less than the two we bought years ago and it arrived in 2 days. Still trying to figure out how they can do this and make any money off it based on the higher price I payed for my other two crates. A couple corners were bent slightly from shipping, but they were bent back without much effort. Not a real issue when you think about how heavy the crate is. I would purchase this again if I needed another crate.

  • Xxl crate wow

I adopted a great dane from the shelter, and I have NEVER been a fan of crates but with this power chewer I felt the need to give this a try, for her safety. We have been at the vets office 6 times in 5 months. 3 of them were for eating things she should not. Ordered this crate and had it in under 48 hours... During the shipping it was a little beat up but thankfully I have a handy husband. Putting it together you will need a large space and patience to read the instructions (we skipped that part the first 3 times). The GD loves her "box" she has her spare bed and a few toys in there. So far we have only had her in the box with the door open. She even decided to sleep in there off and on during I adopted a great dane from the shelter, and I have NEVER been a fan of crates but with this power chewer I felt the need to give this a try, for her safety. The crate is HEAVY. and will not fold down to move from one room to another, you must completely disassemble if you decide to move it to another room (lesson learned) it is also very large, I bet you can fit a small horse in this crate.it also has 2 doors, so if you have to fit it between furniture or walls or whatever there is 2 doors so blocking one of them off is no problem..so far I am impressed. It is shipped straight to your door so no worrying about struggling to get this big thing home. And the price was much better than other places (with shipping included in the price) I have seen for a crate of less size.. … more

  • Depends on the individual dog

    By on

I purchased this particular crate because my daughter had bought the same crate for her 165 lb. Great Dane. I have a 70 lbs. Great Dane/Mastiff puppy, who is 9 months old. I took him in to keep him from being picked up by Animal Control. I was using a smaller crate and the first full day here, he tore the panel off the crate trying to get out of the door. I immediately ordered this heavy duty crate for him. He has since been the wire on the end with the door, warped the bottom of the big side with the large door, and snapped the tray that goes in the bottom. I am trying to figure out what to do to it to keep him from totally destroying it. I sure can't afford to purchase another one.

  • Good value

    By on

I bought this crate for my greyhound. The process of putting the crate together was surprisingly easy, however we did encounter an already bent latch on the side door of the crate. I assume the latch was bent in the process of shipping/handling. The bend in the latch made it impossible to open or close the door of the cage. While the unusable side door is a bit of a letdown, we are pleased with the overall quality and reasonable price of this crate.
