GloFish Aquarium Starter Kit, 3-gal

I feel like there are cheaper options out there unless you just absolutely want the blue glow light look. Even then, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting a bigger tank. This one is made of plastic, structurally questionable, looks like it should have a base due to the lip on the bottom of the backside, and the lid doesn't exactly fit. I had to stick the "aquarium" in front of a heater, put something heavy on top of the lid to keep it down, and after 48 hours I filled it with water. The lid fit better after all that, but it still comes off way too easily for my liking, and there is nothing to secure it. I would have just returned it, but I didn't want to go through the hassle. I'm sure this will work for some people, but it's just not for me. I only plan on putting a beta and maybe 2 snails in it so the lid thing isn't too big a deal, and I'll just keep the rock on top. It's just annoying.

Well, I decided on this because of the size and that's ok....but when putting it together it says to have nothing 1-2 inches from under the filter. The filter sits 2 inches from the bottom of the tank which means you can't have anything under it (rocks). The lid does not sit correctly on the top of the tank at all, I had to tape it so it doesn't fall off....quess you get what you pay for, disappointed

The tank itself is great and a good size. But the filter is too big for a Betta fish. Also it falls apart often. The reason it's too big for a Betta is because one day when I came home I was looking in the tank for my red finned Betta and I couldn't find her. I was worried and took off the lid to find she was stuck inside the filter. I'm not sure how long she was there and she wasn't hurt but she probably could have been. Just a warning to people who want this tank for their Betta. It's a good tank but I recommend buying a small sponge filter instead of using the one that comes with it.
