It is not a hard plastic, but pliable plastic. You choose what you want on it. The back has your information so if your dog/puppy gets away someone knows how to get her back home. 1

I ordered this with the intention to avoid the clinking of his dog tags and instead the dog was actually able to chew it up while hanging from his collar!! Not worth
