Dogs love it!
My girls LOVE this food and I love that I can see real ingredients when I’m preparing it. With two hungry house hippos it’s not affordable as their primary food, but it’s a nice supplement.
Mostly potato
It seems like a good quality product, but the even though the nutritional value says otherwise, looks like the majority of it is potato flakes, which isn't the best filler. I wouldn't mind the less meat if there were a lot more higher nutritional value vegetables, so I wouldn't use this as a meal, but moreso as an accompaniment.
Who Knew?!?!?!
Our border collie is a finicky eater and we have struggled to find something he loves. We knew he liked venison and sweet potatoes but after just the first meal of Grandma Lucy's Artisan Venison Recipe, he had "clean plated" and was begging for "second dinner"! One month in and not only does he love his food, we have seen a wonderful change in our boy. We are SOOOO happy to have discovered this!!
easy to use
My fussy eaters love this. It had larger meat chunks than the other proteins which I like. It rehydrates quick and easy and similar to instant mashed potatoes. I am not a fan of the actual potato content but the dogs like it and it agrees with them.
Dog's love it!
When my bag arrived my 2 dogs followed me like they knew the package was for them. Could they smell it? I walked to the kitchen and they sat in waiting before I even opened the bag...weird. I just found out my oldest Dog has an allergy to a lot of ingredients. He has a fatty tumor, growths on his eye, paw, back, lip...I needed to do something! He had an allergy to all the different foods I tried. So on the search I went. I tried this because it is grain, lamb, chicken, salmon, etc...free. My older, large dog lapped it up like no tomorrow. He is white, his paws are brown from licking. I have used this food and other supplements I found for about 4-5 days now and his paws are less brown and he hasn't really licked that much. He licks the growth on his paw but I'm working on that. This food hopefully will help him heal inside, feel better, and hopefully look better. They eat this stuff up so fast it doesn't last a minute in the bowl! IDK how long this 10lb (50lbs of food) will last but I'm hoping at least 3 weeks.
Amount of potatoes is a bummer
Let me first say that we usually buy the Purformance Rabbit in Grandma Lucy's' line of products and we love it, or dog loves it. Unfortunately, while venison is the first ingredient, potatoes is the second (yes I read all ingredients and compare) and the amount of potatoes seems overkill. So far the dog has tolerated it but we'll see. We'll be switching back to the Rabbit when he's done.
A successful change
Was looking for a healthy dog food for my 2 sick dachshunds. This was a second choice and after trying it, my dogs loved it more than the first selection. The freeze dried mixes up fast, easy to mix 1 cup to two cups liquid. Let sit for 3 minutes and it is ready to go. The ingredients is also very impressive. And for the unmentionable, my dogs poop is very healthy looking now. Their coats are softer and they are not chewing on their legs.
My Dog LOVES this food
We recently discovered our Lily has significant allergies to most proteins. Venison is one of the few meats she can eat. She absolutely loves this food and can't wait for breakfast each morning.

Freeze dried Goodness!
This is the first time my dogs have tried this Venison flavour of dog food and they gobbled it up! I have added this to their rotation of dog food flavours. I'm so glad I have found freeze dried food for my dogs as one of them has problems digesting kibble and since being on freeze dried all issues have disappeared.
