About Grandma Lucy’s

Grandma Lucy’s began when founders Breann & Eric Shook started their quest for safe, healthy dog treats. Their 11-year old English Cocker Spaniel, Lucy, had developed food allergies that prevented her from eating most treats, and as they learned what was in pet food, they were surprised at the inferior ingredient quality. After consulting with vets and nutritionists, they started home cooking Lucy’s meals and treats, and what resulted was the basis for the healthy pet foods they make today.

Grandma Lucy's shelf life is 18 months and if stored in a cool dry place and sealed after use the best buy date should not be affected by opening the bag.

My 10 yr old Sheltie just loves this recipe. I started him on the Artisan Chicken which he really enjoyed and began his journey into freeze dried food. I wanted to get away from the higher carbs at 42% and the chickpea formula seems to be a great replacement. The Pureformance chicken has about 35% carbs. It mixes up well and has an easy cleanup on all of the lines.

After trying out the lamb formula I thought to change things up. Well, that was a BIG mistake. My girl does NOT like it, doesn’t want to eat it, and will leave the food. She is a Golden Retriever - they are known to be food driven. This makes her turn up her nose and she’d rather starve. I ended up having to buy some kibble she likes to mix it into this Chicken formula to get her to eat this. I will NEVER buy this formula again. I do NOT recommend this.

our 3 dogs love this! We mix with warm water like the directions say but we use it as a dry food topper. Each dog gets about a 1/3 of a cup mix into the dry food
