My semi feral cat was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I needed to be sure he got his medication twice a day. I decided to try the pill pockets. Low and behold, even if he doesn't eat all his foo, he always eats the salmon flavored pill pocket sitting on the plate next to his meals. Thyroid meds are critical and now I can be sure he's getting them.
I have pill masker that comes in a jar like paste, and lets me pinch whatever quantity I want to form around a pill. But my cat won't eat it (it's bacon flavored). So I bought 3 flavors of feline Greenies pill pockets, but they're pretty big. My cat is pretty sick and won't eat anything, and she didn't show any interest in any of these. I'll donate the 3 opened bags to a shelter.
My order came conveniently in a very short time. I needed the item for my sick cat and fortunately didn't have to wait. Easy to use. Unfortunately my cat passed and soon after, Chewy sent a sympathy bouquet. So very appreciated.
Got these as an easy way to give the cats their worm medicine but sadly only 2 out of 9 cats ate these, the rest we had to do it the old fashion way, and shove it right down their throat which was not fun! I'm giving it three stars, a star for each cat that ate a treat, and then a third star, because the rats absolutely destroyed them! But next time, I'll just save my money and shove any medication down their throats on my own, because really all they were was a waste of money! And I forgot to put it in my AutoShip order And I have a pretty hefty monthly AutoShip and I am pretty upset to say that Chewy wouldn't waive the shipping fee for me and made me pay full price. Even though I called within three days of my AutoShip payment going through and I asked if they could just add it to that And they denied me so I had to pay more in shipping then it was for the treats themselves, so I'm pretty disappointed about that!
I have used these for over a year for twice daily delivery of my dog seizure medication. The value pack salmon is for some reason the cheapest pill product offered by greenies and I do not do not want my dog getting a ton of extra calories twice a day at pill time, so this is what we use. However, the 84 count is packaged into the same bag as the 45 and the bag reliably fails before the 84ish opening. The ziploc resealable zipper pulls away from the side of the bag and often causes a tear in the inner liner. This leads to the last 10-20 pill pockets getting dry and stale from exposure to air. This is a production issue on Greenies side of things and not something Chewy can change, but it is worth mentioning. It may be better overall to buy 45 packs since that packaging will last through the end of the product, but 84 is more eco friendly so I wish they would fix the packaging problems.
The vet prescribed some pills for our young cats to take for tapeworm and I was dreading the process. She recommended the salmon pill pockets. I was skeptical, but I am not kidding when I say that my cats practically swallowed them whole and begged for more. Easiest pill experience EVER. No joke. Now we use them just as treats. And Chewy had them for half the cost of the vet. Thank you, Chewy!
These are a huge help - they have greatly simplified twice-a-day administration of our cat's thyroid medicine. We were crushing it up in his food, but he started refusing to eat it. With these, we just tuck the pill in, pinch it closed, and he snarfs the treat right from our hands. Don't know why we waited so long to look for something like this.
I like these for giving heart pills to my Yorkie, not a cat. I ordered these from Chewy, and whoever packed the box threw these in the bottom of the box, and then put a 35 lb. bag of Diamond Senior on top of them. Just pulled them out of the box and all 6 packages are flat as a pancake. Yes, I can mold them around the pills. Thats not why they call them pill pockets.
I actually use these for my dog. He takes tiny pills 2x a day and has learned to eat around them. These tiny pill pockets hold the pills just right and my dog things they are a treat!
The last package I got the pockets were completely smashed up. I have to tear off clumps of it to cover my kitties pills. Salmon flavor has a little more scent to it for my blinding kitty vs the chicken ones. So it’s easier for him to sniff it out when I put it in front of him. Disappointed in the last batch I got though.
