Is this safe to give to a momma cat who is still nursing her kittens?
Answer by catmomOct 12, 2022
yes

Can I put the pill in a medicine syringe with a little bit of water to make it into a liquid so it's easier to give it to the cat?
Answer by ChewyJul 12, 2019
This de-wormer can be diluted into a liquid and administered via oral syringe.

Does it also kill the worms on the outside of the body near the rear?
Answer by ChewyNov 02, 2018
This will only affect internal tapeworms.

If my cat does not eat the entire tablet at once and finishes the rest the next day, will it still have the same effect?
Answer by ChewyNov 02, 2018
Per your cat's weight, a minimum dosage of this treatment is needed at once to be effective. If one dose is split to be given at different times, the concentration threshold that needs to be reached for the product to work will likely not be attained.

One cat fine, another horribly sick

I gave this to one of my cats who definitely had tapeworms and he acted a little quiet and queasy for a couple hours, then was fine and was more active than ever and feeling much better the next day. I gave it to his younger, healthier brother and he is still violently sick after 24 hours with blood-tinged vomiting and lethargy. Same bottle - two totally different reactions. So be careful - I was not impressed with the lack of information on this packaging and had to dig around online to find out that other people's cats had also had this kind of terrible reaction. Even my vet was suggesting something else was causing it because "wormers are safe" but it was the only unusual thing in his day and unlike the first cat who barely noticed the pill hidden in a treat, this poor guy's reaction was immediate with drooling and retching. We're still waiting to see if he recovers on his own or will have to go back to the vet, it's made him so sick. So I would definitely be sure, via stool sample at the vets, that this is what you need, and even then, proceed with caution and be prepared to have a sick cat.

Beware of reaction

The medication did the job but not without some side-effects. Under warning it mentioned excessive salivating or diarrhea but not life threatening. About 4 hrs after administering the pill, my cat was drooling out of control, had some weird twitching like a cat does when they step in water. These symptoms lasted about 2 and a half days. Good new she is ok now and worms seem to be taken care of. Just be aware!

Seems to do the trick!

i have used this a few times in the past and it works! plus chewy always gets it to you super fast!! i give 2 doses a couple weeks apart to be sure and never had any side effects in any of my cats. just be sure to prevent reinfection, so keep up on flea prevention, and wash all bedding and vacuum so any tapeworm segments and fleas are gone.

Works Everytime

I have been using this med for the occasional tapeworm situation. My cat is about 12 lbs. I usually catch the infection in early stage and so I will start with 1/2 tablet (vs. 1-1/2 dose). No side effects. Then follow up with 2nd 1/2. My cat will not take it with food; so I have to administer orally; which is a bit of a challenge. I try to keep extra on-hand as each bottle contains 3 tablets.

Yikes sums it up

I have an elderly kitty and for some reason she got ill after attempting to give 1/2 pill ground up in some lil friskies lil shake. Apparently she noticed it as well while eating and got pretty upset with me. It could have just been a coincidence but her tummy definitely reacted. Bloody stool, gas, and runny stool for several days. I absolutely will not be giving this to her again.

Worked great!

For my tabby cat, I smashed the pill with meat hammer and mixed with her wet food and she ate it all. My calico cat did not touch it so had to use pill plunger. Neither cat got sick and no worms the next day. 3 weeks later still no worms.

To big doesn't desolve fast enough

I covered this pill in soft kitty food and also a kitty churo and both times he spit the pill out. The size of it makes it incredibly difficult to get down. Finally had to shove it in his mouth and fight him till it devolved. Not easy at all.

Worked well

Worked as expected, only needed one dose. Was so effective my coworker asked to try fir her kittens that came from the same litter as mine and all had tapeworms, worked first try for them as well.

Tapeworm Medicine Works Fine

I administered this to my cat, crushed up in her food, as I can honestly say that I've never given her a pill and knew I'd have a problem. It worked fine, but I really wasn't keen on having to give a second application. And you get 3 pills in the bottle, so if you have two cats, you'll have one left over for another dose but will have to buy another box to treat the second cat.

FOR TAPEWORMS, not an all-around dewormer

I did not read and bought this product thinking it would fully deworm my cats. They all had roundworms and were not benefited by this product - so I cannot speak to its effectiveness. However, I will say it was pretty difficult to give this to my cats - and some tried to fight me on the pill. If your vet could provide you with another option, I would take that instead.
