How often do you have to administer. This is a feral cat.
Answer by ChewyFeb 03, 2021
This treatment starts working quickly and efficiently, killing 90% of adult fleas within 6 hours. A single dose should kill the adult fleas on your cat. In the event of re-infestation, you can safely give your cat another dose as often as once per day.

1/25/21 I want to know is this pill water proof.2 Does the fleas have to bit first. Is this a month long or 1 day medication the website is not very good
Answer by ChewyJan 26, 2021
CapAction is an orally administered tablet that does not wash off. Once your pet has swallowed the tablet, the active ingredient, nitenpyram, goes to work within 30 minutes. Once the nitenpyram enters the bloodstream, the fleas ingest it when they bite your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. CapAction is safe for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens 2 pounds of body weight or greater and 4 weeks of age or older.

how long does the product last on the cat to treat fleas?
Answer by ChewyMar 08, 2022
A single dose of CapAction should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. It will begin working within 30 minutes.

can this be used as a preventative or is it just for cats that already have fleas?
Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2022
CapAction Flea Tablets for Cats is suitable for treating infestations and is not a replacement for a preventative. The product starts working within 30 minutes and continues to work for 24 hours. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAPACTION

I had a kitten arrive with fleas from cargo. I used the CapAction tab and fleas gone in 4 hours not one alive! I repeated the next day just to be safe. I always isolate a new arrival so this kitten will be observed and given CapAction again if needed. Superior product a Breeder friend got fleas at a cat show and used this product on her pregnant queen. Joyfully no problem, gentle yet most effective flea KILLER! I highly recommend it for all your cats any age. I expect equally effective with dogs.

The Flea Annihilator

I came home from taking care of my Evil daughter and son-in-law’s three big dog’s for eleven days while doing that I had to go back to my cat’s at my apartment to refresh their food, water, and litter about an hour’s drive between. My cat’s are inside cats but somehow got flea’s. I tried everything and found these. I just kept giving daily. Eventually the eggs on my cats disappeared as well as the fleas of course. Just keep giving it till there are no more eggs, check daily with flea comb. I will never help my daughter just so she can go on vacation again

Top 1000 Contibutor

Ummmmmm....not sure!!

Cats seem to groom a lot more after the pills, unlike the drops for the back of the neck, where they are sort of 'tongues off' for a few days...I, as their main human caretaker cannot really tell the difference. The first time these pills were used, there were fleas dropping off the cats and dying...now, I do not know...but, I alternate between the pills and my preferred drops, monthly and all seems okay!!!

Better price, same ingredients as competitor

I purchased a different name brand of this same product from my local petstore, and it cost me about $45. Later, I saw this PetArmor brand offering the same product here on Chewy and through other both online and local sellers for roughly $15 less than what I had paid for the other name brand. It's the same ingredient, same dose, and same number of doses for a lower price. I've found this product to work within the same day because I've found fleas coming to the surface of my cat's hair and they just list there lifelessly near the outer fur after they've been affected by the medication. I have found this affect to only last a about 3 to 4 days. It's not a whole solution, but using it as part of a multi-pronged approach, it's a great tool. It offers immediate, temporary relief from the irritating itching also. For pets who have been suffering from fleas for a while, it's a quick reprieve from all the scratching and they can sleep and rest peacefully for a few days while you start addressing the infestation in the home and yard. I got this product for a feral cat who I've tamed and was spayed/vaxed through a TNR clinic, but is local veterinarians will not see her because of her history of having been feral. So I am limited to non-Rx options to maintain her medical care. It was easy to give her this pill - I used a pinch of a chicken flavored pill pocket to coat the pill, and she ate it eagerly. Good luck!

What situation is this for?

This product works. Technically. Once. For a couple hours. After the first pill given to your cat, quite quickly the fleas start acting weird. They hop off the animal and run in circles. "This is great!" you tell yourself, until they're back literally the next day. It just confuses and kills the adult fleas on your cat for a couple hours. Their eggs hatch, and you're back to square one. It solves nothing. You're better off getting a big name brand for twice the money that takes a week to work, because it'll actually solve the issue instead of tricking you into thinking you've found a magic fix for a couple hours.

Works great

I used these for my elderly cat when I brought home fleas to her. It worked great. Within days she was flea free. Took me longer to get my apartment flea free. I now use this for my 2 year old cats. They have never had fleas and I want to keep it that way.

great

This product works just like it says. It kills the adult fleas that are biting you feline family member. My cat felt so much better for not being bit. along with a flea comb to get the eggs already laid, he's a much happier camper and so am I.

Made my cat really ill

Gave him painful gastric upset for several weeks. Had to get medications from vet (buperenorphine) and from chewy (cerenia).

Used along with Advantage II Flea Spot Treatment

I don't know how my cat got fleas because he's an indoor only cat. I noticed a flea on him one day and I figured that where there's one, there's more. I ordered both PetArmor CapAction Flea Tablets for Cats and Advantage II Flea Spot Treatment for Cats, over 9 lbs. Between the 2 of them, I got rid of the fleas on my cat. I had to give my cat a second pill 2 days after the first one because I didn't think the first one got rid of them. He was still scratching and licking a lot. A few days after the second pill, most of the scratching and licking were gone. I'm glad I ordered both items.

My cats loved these pills!

These pills were easier to give my cats then I thought! These pills were so much easier than the liquid I had to put on their necks. They fought me when I put the liquid on n then I read how bad that was for c.ats
