Help protect your favorite feline and your home from parasitic pests with Advantage Flea & Tick Treatment Spray for Cats. Designed to aid in the control of flea bite dermatitis, this EPA-regulated spray works to kill and repel fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks and lice on contact. A great complement to a complete flea control program, this easy-to-use, leave-on spray can be applied directly to your pet, as well as carpets, upholstery, bedding, floor gaps and more. Its highly-effective combination of ingredients includes an insect growth regulator to stop the flea life cycle in its tracks, and keep them from ever reaching the biting stage. One powerful application lasts up to 100 days, and it’s safe to use on cats over 7 months of age.

  • Can be sprayed directly on your pet, as well as carpets, upholstery, bedding, floor gaps and more.
  • Contains an insect growth regulator to break the flea life cycle and prevent them from reaching the biting stage.
  • Highly-effective formula last for up to 100 days and is safe for use on cats and kittens over 7 months of age.
  • Whisper-quiet spray can will continue to dispense even when can is held upside down, making it easy to treat hard-to-reach places.
Precautions

Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days. ALWAYS read the entire product label prior to use. For indoor use only. Not for use in outdoor residential misting systems or outdoor metered release systems. DO NOT TREAT CATS UNDER 7 MONTHS OF AGE. Do not use in aircraft cabins. Do not wet articles to point of runoff or drip. Do not use treated article until spray has dried. Application of this product is prohibited directly into sewers or drains, or to any area like a gutter where drainage to storm sewers, storm drains, water bodies, or aquatic habitat can occur. Do not allow this product to enter any drain during or after application.

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Instructions

For Cats

Cover animal's eyes with a hand. Do not spray directly on mouth, nose, or eyes. Spray head, ears, and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose, and eyes. Then spray from neck to tail, finishing legs last. For best penetration of spray to skin and on heavy-coated animals, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind your hand. Make sure the spray thoroughly wets ticks. When used on cats, towel-dry the animal after ½ hour if not totally dry. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days (1 week).

For Kittens Over 7 Months

Wrap the animal in a towel that has been sprayed lightly with this product. Leave eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Put some spray on the finger and gently rub around eyes, nose, and mouth area. Keep animal wrapped for 5-10 minutes. Fleas may then be removed from the coat by picking or combing. For best results, all cats should be treated with a similar flea control product such as Advantage Treatment Spray for Cats to prevent reinfestation. Do not spray directly on kittens. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 14 days (2 weeks).

    This works if used correctly

    By on

Advantage is a proven flea treatment. From the reviews I'm reading this is being applied incorrectly. Read the instructions you dummies. Clean the house. Get a good flea comb. A light spray. Not saturating the cat. This is an insecticide. You will kill them!. A topical works best. Wash and clean bedding in your house(outdoors too). Vacuum. You can't use multiple products. Again, you will kill the cat. Capstar is used to instantly kill fleas. Followed by a good topical. Cleaning your house and keeping up a schedule of treatment is a must. If this is too much work, don't have pets. Foolish people.

    Stinky spray

    By on

I have purchased this product in non-aerosol form. This one smelled like a mix of kerosene and gasoline. All my cats ran away and hid after the first of them got sprayed. The one that did get sprayed did not get any relief from the few fleas that were bugging him. If anything he got more. Didn't like it at all.

    Difficult to apply

I don't like this product because the odor is very strong, and my cat doesn't allow a put it. The cats are to sensitives to strong odors. My cat is really sensitive, and I could not apply never this product.

Nozzle jammed before 50% of the container was used.

    By on

The nozzle jammed very quickly. I managed to spray 1 1/2 cats before no more liquid would come out. At least half of the fluid is still in the container. Very disappointed.

This is the best out there

    By on

This is the best stuff out there. Literally the fleas were jumping off our big cat when the spraying began! They were either dead or paralyzed it doing everything they can to save themselves. Lay paper towels down before starting because a lot of them are going to fall straight off. I cannot thank advantage enough for making our big guy s million times more comfortable.

Smells odd but really works as described. If you're on a budget, this product will kill fleas at a reasonable price.

This worked when nothing else had

I have a senior cat (nearly 20yo) and the fleas this year have already been a major problem. We've used the Advantage II spot treatment for years, but lately it didn't seem to be working on her at all. Tried another brand spot treatment and no better. Tried this and it worked. A week later still no visible fleas, so can't yet know how often I'll have to reapply it. It does smell like insecticide (though the smell doesn't linger in her fur, maybe for an hour or so after applying), and the cat hasn't been grooming since applying it; but she's been generally feeling unwell since having the flea issue in the first place (they were bad enough to make her borderline anemic), so can't say whether I have a senior cat (nearly 20yo) and the fleas this year have already been a major problem. Still and all though - very glad to have found something to keep the fleas from hitching a ride whenever she goes outside with me. … more

    Best Ever!!

I had a horrible flea infestation with my indoor cat and home. I spent over 200 dollars on products that promised to stop it. This was the only thing that did work.my cat honestly can't stand the aroma but it is the only thing that helped! Definitely buy 2 so you have extra.
