Description

Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.

Key Benefits
  • Safari Flea Comb is used to control fleas, ticks and to help identify skin and coat problems
  • Ideal to use after flea powders or shampoos
  • Removes pests from your cat's coat without irritating flea-bitten skin
  • Contoured to fit in your palm for better control
  • Easy to use, just start at the head of the cat and brush throughout down to the tail

Instructions
  • Before using, groom your cat with a Safari cat comb or brush to remove mats and tangles that could damage the teeth of the flea comb. If needed, apply flea treatment before combing.

  • Comb your cat slowly, periodically checking the teeth of the comb for fleas or debris. Pay particular attention to areas around the ears, nape of neck and base of tail. Between strokes, dip the cat flea comb into a cup of water with mild detergent to kill the fleas left on the comb.

  • Amazing product

I have had a big problem with fleas for months. I have 3 indoor cats. I have treated them numerous times, nothing worked. Spent $100's of dollars. I got this comb because at this point I figured why not. Within 3 days they are hardly scratching. They fought me at first, but now they love it. I keep a can of dawn dish washing liquid and clean the comb after I use it. Didn't realize how many they had.

  • You Must Do This

I have 2 indoor only cats and discovered that they had fleas! I have been using this Safari Flea Comb for about 2 weeks now. Everyday I comb them and have been delighted with the results. I've been concentrating on their chest, back, and legs. But just today I made a discovery. A lot of fleas hide out on the cat's FACE! I feel a wet comb does great job. Go against the grain of the hair. Run the comb all over - thru the whiskers, top and sides of the head, under the chin. Have that bowl of soapy water ready! I was stunned! Terrific!

  • No better than what you can buy from a dollar store

    By on

I bought this product because I rescued an orphaned kitten that was infested with fleas, but too young to use topical treatments. I already had a cheap comb from a dollar store that, while it does occasionally get some fleas between the tines, mostly results in fleas jumping off the tines. The very first stroke with this brush and we had jumpers. Upon closer inspection I found that quite a few of the tines were more widely spaced apart than the $1 comb I already had. Maybe it's an issue with my comb, or maybe it's overhyped. I don't know, but it is a bummer. I hope others have better luck.

  • Your cat will thank you.

Before this, I was giving my cat a bath every time I seen adult fleas on her. Very effective. Along with having fleas, my kitty was scabby and dandruffy. Not only did this get the adult fleas off her, but the "flea dirt", and accidentally some of her scabs. Her fur isn't matted, but if your cat is, it probably is a good idea to pre-brush first. Great product, but please keep in mind that this is one of the many tools you need for fighting fleas.

  • Works great and comfortable!

I've been fighting a flea issue for a week or so. Took the cats to the vet and got the proper flea medicine and have been using this comb on the cats at least twice a day and the flea population thankfully has dropped immensely. I haven't found any fleas for a week or so but i do like combing the cats out (less hair on me when they snuggle on my lap!) I'd highly recommend this comb! Btw when combing out the cats I have a large container of dawn dish detergent and water, and a seperste bowl of clean water and a paper towel. I comb the cat, swirl the comb in the sudsy water to clear off anything that might be moving!, then rinse it in the clean water and dry on the paper towel. • Good tool for removing hair and dry skin flakes as well as fleas

My cats line up to get groomed with this tool. They love the comb taking out their loose hair and dead skin. Thankfully, we have few fleas here in eastern Tennessee, but in Houston there were lots.

  • Great Flea Comb

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I foster kittens, do trap, neuter, release for feral cats, and have my own cats. So needless to say fleas are frequently brought in my home. This comb was given to me by my humane society and I've thrown out any other flea comb since! This catches so many fleas and flea dirt with just one brush. The bristles are close enough together that if a flea is in between them it'll stay stuck long enough for you to drown them in soapy water. It has a nice sturdy handle, Ive dropped it a few times and it has yet to crack. Great price and a great quality flea comb!

  • Great product

I wished I tried using a flea comb earlier this season when we had a large outbreak. Currently , we have a minor resurgence and this is the way to go.

  • Works great!

I was skeptical at first but the teeth in the comb are very close together. This comb catches live fleas and their eggs in the teeth. Gets rid of flea dirt, too.

  • It works!!!

Just have a bowl of water then add 2-4 drops on top. Keep it close and just brush away. Used this on my short haired tabby until I could go to the vet and get revolution. I still got Orion to spray the house just in case.
