Description

Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.

Instructions
  • Before using, groom your cat with a Safari cat comb or brush to remove mats and tangles that could damage the teeth of the flea comb. If needed, apply flea treatment before combing.

  • Comb your cat slowly, periodically checking the teeth of the comb for fleas or debris. Pay particular attention to areas around the ears, nape of neck and base of tail. Between strokes, dip the cat flea comb into a cup of water with mild detergent to kill the fleas left on the comb.

I ordered two of these! Love them there big and deff can't go missing and easy as my old ones did. I use these to see if any cats we rescue have fleas and they are great. Really big and sturdy and not to hard on store or sensitive skin. My cats love being brushed and they love these better then there kitty posts that have the rubbing part on them

  • soft, light feel

This flea comb is fun to use because of the way it handles. It is light weight, and the fine teeth trap the fleas quite well. To get rid of fleas I use a white coffee mug (it shows the flea) filled with steaming hot water only. One dip does them in fast and a tissue is used to clean comb of fur and bugs. I have read others using a cup of soapy water but, doing that just leaves a soapy taste and residue your pet then has to deal with. The Safari is, however a delicate comb. The teeth bend very easily. Just treat it gently and this Safari flea comb will definitely capture the fleas.

  • Also great for cat dander

Our thieving kitten stole their previous comb to use as a toy and hid it somewhere, so I wanted a replacement. I wasn't sure about the length as I was used to a much shorter handle, but I actually like it a lot. I find the flea combs good at getting out loose undercoat hair, and it's also great for Gump who tends to get a lot of dandruff. Nice rounded ends on the bristles make it easy to keep from accidentally scratching their skin.

  • Safari Flea Comb for Cats

I saw one of these at the vet's office and thought it was wonderful. Never knew these existed. Bought it and am so glad I did. It is wonderful. The flea medicine that you give your animals (at the base of their neck) just doesn't work like it used to. The Fleas are getting too smart. Even the vet said so. So now, I comb my cat out every day, just to make sure she is healthy and flea free (along with the flea medicine). It works great.

  • It Works :)

My cat (Wednesday Willow) has been scratching for weeks. I took her to the vet, They told me "It was probably allergies or she doesn't like her collar!" They followed up with "No sign of fleas!" Well, my instincts told me different. I bought the comb I got at least 14 fleas off of her; along with flea eggs. I was really amazed of how much I got out at once. Now it just time for Wednesday Willow to take a bath. Wish me luck!

  • Winner in my search for best flea comb

    By on

Unfortunately, I found myself in the middle of a flea infestation in my house. Ugh. So I ramped up the vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and sprinkling of diatomaceous earth on my carpets, and tackled the fleas on my cats directly with frequent combing (the expensive topical treatment only seemed effective for a couple of weeks). I bought a number of flea combs, and this Safari comb is hands-down the winner. Its teeth are fine enough and close enough together to catch even the smallest and most slippery of fleas. Be sure to shake, flick, or wipe them quickly into a bowl of soapy water. Use caution not to scratch your cat and don't let the comb get caught in the cat's loose, wrinkly skin. It's not hard, just something to be mindful of. The Safari comb might be the most delicate one, being so fine. I accidentally knocked some teeth out of alignment on the rim of a bowl. I love this comb, though; it has been invaluable in my battle against those dastardly, vicious fleas. … more

  • This comb works

I didn't even know that flea combs existed until I saw a flea on our cat. After searching online for flea remedies, I ordered this comb and some flea shampoo, and gave Pepi his first bath, which he didn't appreciate at all. But he loves to be combed, and I use this comb many times during the day. With vacuuming and combing, we're finally getting control of the flea problem.

  • Mat killer

This is a good comb to get those tiny tiny mats on a Persian’s legs that other fine combs just skim over.

  • Flea Comb / Safari

Very happy with this flea comb. Really like the handle and design. It has done a great job at trapping fleas and holding them until I dip the comb into hot water or a zip baggie with a few sprays of a natural flea killer. The cats are not bothered by the combing, but let me know if I'm pressing a little too hard.
