Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

How do you kill and remove the fleas from the comb ?
Answer by ChewyFeb 13, 2019
Comb your cat slowly, periodically checking the teeth of the comb for fleas or debris. Between strokes, dip the cat flea comb into a cup of water with mild detergent to kill the fleas left on the comb.

Can I use this to remove nits/lice from my 3 month old kitten? He was a feral and he's been treated but I'm waiting for the Revolution to work. It's been 3 weeks I still see little white dots on the fur mostly toward the back of his body.
Answer by ChewySep 15, 2018
The closely spaced teeth on this comb are primarily designed to remove fleas and ticks. Customers have reported the comb also being useful for removal of flea dirt, eggs & larvae.

Can I use this on my puppy?
Answer by ChewyFeb 11, 2019
The teeth in this comb are specifically designed for a cats coat. The Safari Flea Comb for Dogs is currently available.

THIS ONE REALLY WORKS TO CATCH THE FLEAS

Most flea combs out there don't remotely work. Don't even try the plastic combs. You need very fine metal combs that hold up to being used without bending. The spaces between the tines has to stay consistently small over time. This is one of the few out there that really works. Highly recommend. I comb out the fleas and flea dirt and drop both in detergent water. I can rid a cat of fleas in just a few combings if they cooperate! Great for kittens.

Works very well

I have been using this comb consistently for the past week and have gotten at least 70 fleas out of my cat's fur. Highly recommend it!

Best flea comb I've found and I've tried several. Works great on my 2 short-haired Chihuahuas.

Simple, inexpensive must-have tool.

I use this just about every morning on my indoor-only cat. Aside from monitoring for any potential fleas (I'd rather not use chemical flea-dosing if not needed) it's an excellent grooming tool, removing fur shed which leaves your cat with a silkier and healthier coat. And less fur that she/he swallows while grooming. And my cat just happens to love it. I always follow up the process with a treat.

Hes so silky!

I first bought one of these after i saw my vet use one, and thought it would be a good thing to have in my arsenal.. and i soon realized it was not just for fleas.. everyone is surprised that he is so silky-soft! I have one everywhere we hang out! By the bed, next to the recliner, in the car, in our going-for-a-walk bucket!

Best Flea Comb Yet

I had, and used, a small horseshoe shaped flea comb from one of those big convenient retail stores and it did not detect fleas. Bought this safari comb. It gets the fleas! The tines are closer together and really hold the critters, and the bottoms of the tines are not sharp and does not rake the cats skin. and the contours of the handle make it easy to hold and angle, for me. Definitely a great product

Comb the sand!

This flea comb did a pretty good job. However, my only complaint would be that this comb did allow some fleas to escape when they weren't perpendicular to the tines. Or, I'd see one crawling in the undercoat, and I'd try and comb it out, but it would escape. I think EVEN finer thinner tines with EVEN less gap would be better for de-fleaing.

BEST FLEA COMB

This comb is excellent. Grabs those fleas and I can happily drown them in soapy water. Love it and would highly recommend it. Have had other flea combs but this is a really good one and so reasonably priced.
