Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.
Safari Flea Comb is used to control fleas, ticks and to help identify skin and coat problems
Ideal to use after flea powders or shampoos
Removes pests from your cat's coat without irritating flea-bitten skin
Contoured to fit in your palm for better control
Easy to use, just start at the head of the cat and brush throughout down to the tail
Before using, groom your cat with a Safari cat comb or brush to remove mats and tangles that could damage the teeth of the flea comb. If needed, apply flea treatment before combing.
Comb your cat slowly, periodically checking the teeth of the comb for fleas or debris. Pay particular attention to areas around the ears, nape of neck and base of tail. Between strokes, dip the cat flea comb into a cup of water with mild detergent to kill the fleas left on the comb.
My cat (Wednesday Willow) has been scratching for weeks. I took her to the vet, They told me "It was probably allergies or she doesn't like her collar!" They followed up with "No sign of fleas!" Well, my instincts told me different. I bought the comb I got at least 14 fleas off of her; along with flea eggs. I was really amazed of how much I got out at once. Now it just time for Wednesday Willow to take a bath. Wish me luck!
Flea comb for cats

Haven't use yet because they just had their baths when it came. But in a few months. They are both indoor cats, only go out in their carriers to go to the vet.
We had a new very young vet trying to sell us some expensive stuff and decided to take care of it our selfves.
It really works

Got a cat? I've got 6. Flea control is a problem. This flea comb is awesome. Just have a plan on how you will handle all the fleas removed. I keep a glass jar with a wide opening filled with a little hot water very close. Makes flea disposal quick and easy.

I have three cats and had a flea problem. I tried several kinds of flea medication and could not get rid of the fleas. After getting this comb and combing each cat everyday for a few days, all the fleas are gone!
soft, light feel

This flea comb is fun to use because of the way it handles. It is light weight, and the fine teeth trap the fleas quite well.
To get rid of fleas I use a white coffee mug (it shows the flea) filled with steaming hot water only. One dip does them in fast and a tissue is used to clean comb of fur and bugs.
I have read others using a cup of soapy water but, doing that just leaves a soapy taste and residue your pet then has to deal with.
The Safari is, however a delicate comb. The teeth bend very easily. Just treat it gently and this Safari flea comb will definitely capture the fleas.
Better than other flea combs

This comb will pick up fleas - multiple fleas in one comb. Have an infestation of fleas in my home and on cats and use this comb several times a day to help control them without using pesticides on my cats. In fact they have begun to dread this comb. Have a jar of hot water beside me or a zip lock bag to deposit fleas as I come upon them. The majority of time the fleas are within the tight combs which allows for killing them. Highly recommend this comb. I use the comb to sprinkle diatomaceous earth on it and comb it into the cat's fur and that is helping control the fleas along with vacuuming.

My kitty has been having a lot of problems with flea residue and this comb works perfectly. Besides she runs to have her fur combed now!
Also great for cat dander

Our thieving kitten stole their previous comb to use as a toy and hid it somewhere, so I wanted a replacement. I wasn't sure about the length as I was used to a much shorter handle, but I actually like it a lot. I find the flea combs good at getting out loose undercoat hair, and it's also great for Gump who tends to get a lot of dandruff. Nice rounded ends on the bristles make it easy to keep from accidentally scratching their skin.
Safari Flea Comb for Cats

I saw one of these at the vet's office and thought it was wonderful. Never knew these existed. Bought it and am so glad I did. It is wonderful. The flea medicine that you give your animals (at the base of their neck) just doesn't work like it used to. The Fleas are getting too smart. Even the vet said so. So now, I comb my cat out every day, just to make sure she is healthy and flea free (along with the flea medicine). It works great.
Winner in my search for best flea comb

Unfortunately, I found myself in the middle of a flea infestation in my house. Ugh. So I ramped up the vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and sprinkling of diatomaceous earth on my carpets, and tackled the fleas on my cats directly with frequent combing (the expensive topical treatment only seemed effective for a couple of weeks). I bought a number of flea combs, and this Safari comb is hands-down the winner. Its teeth are fine enough and close enough together to catch even the smallest and most slippery of fleas. Be sure to shake, flick, or wipe them quickly into a bowl of soapy water. Use caution not to scratch your cat and don't let the comb get caught in the cat's loose, wrinkly skin. It's not hard, just something to be mindful of. The Safari comb might be the most delicate one, being so fine. I accidentally knocked some teeth out of alignment on the rim of a bowl. I love this comb, though; it has been invaluable in my battle against those dastardly, vicious fleas.… more
