My dogs LOVE this (I use it as a topper)
This has such wholesome ingredients, and is meat-free. I use it to reduce meat consumption, as a topper to dry food. My dogs LOVE it. It smells like vegetable soup, and includes most of those ingredients. BTW, dogs do not need to diet with meat. This food includes plenty of protein to be a main source dog food. Your dog will probably love it too!
Waste of money
I purchased this because my dog needed to transition to a low protein diet and wasn’t interested in the JFFD renal diet I picked up. I’ve tried twice to feed this and my dog will not touch this, so it sits in his bowl or toppl and then gets thrown out. It does not look appealing. It’s not particularly moist and kind of a paste like texture.
Dog loves it
One of my pups has allergies to every animal protein along with Dust mites. This helps to keep the itchiness and rashes to a minimum. It's a nice treat for him when it's mixed with his boring vegan kibble. With 3 other dogs to feed, I can't afford to feed this exclusively because it is too costly. Keeping a star off because of the price.
Bye bye Natures Balance
My 16 yr old rockstar vegan pup had been eating Natures Balance vegetarian wet food for awhile. They changed their formula and hence the consistency to something that looked regurgitated. My boy wasn’t eating. Ugh. I found Halo and WOOHOO! Winston is happy and excited about eating again! Halos consistency is perfect. He gobbles up his bowls and eats his normal twice a day. He is my lil grandpa and I’m so happy to have found Halo.
My sensitive boxer is so happy!
After 2 years of struggling to figure out what was going on my sensitive boxer and trying multiple diets, including vet prescribed, different meds, all kinds of tests, my boy still suffered numerous rounds of ear infections, skin conditions, diarrhea, gas... We finally found Halo Holistic Garden of Vegan. No more gas, no more ear infections, no more diarrhea, no more of those pus filled bumps! We had tried other vegetarian and vegan foods but nothing changed. He'd be good for a bag or 2 and then back to the same. Then we found Halo and we figured it out! Not only is Kai not able to handle ANY processed meat or chicken or by-products, but he can't handle ANY yeast products. This product has no grain or yeast or meat at all. It has all the vitamins and minerals my big boy needs. To satisfy his caloric needs, he gets 2 13 Oz cans per day. One in the morning, one at dinner. With the can, I mix in cooked hamburger, some scrambled egg, a bit of rice and a veg like green beans or carrots or peas, along with a spoonful of pumpkin. With breakfast, he gets a half a banana or a quarter of an apple mixed in as well. All of this totals about 3 cups of food per meal for a total of 6 cups per day which is what is needed for his size and weight. He's very active, muscular and so much happier now that he's not scratching or licking or needing to go out or better yet, needing to go to the vet every 3 weeks because of a new infection or something else. I even feed this to my other boxer who has no health issues or allergies. She scarfs it down as well. I can't recommend this enough whether your dog has allergies or not. It's been wonderful. Oh Bonus! Their stool is much less and it doesn't stink!
Cost us $1000 at the emergency vet
My dogs loved this, but it caused my dog to have a large stool burden (told this was the cause by the emergency vet) that cost us $1000 and more importantly caused my dog to be in pain.
Horrible never again
None of my dogs would touch this. Not even my daughters farm dog. Which her dog eats everything but this food. I myself did not even like the smell of this food, either. This is a hard never again good
Less ingredients.....double the price!
My pup LOVES this food so that's why 3 stars but I noticed the price of the kibble nearly doubled and the packaging changed so I read the ingredients list.....they took out so many beneficial ingredients but the price was 2x! So I looked into his canned food and what do ya know......dropped a few things from the list, changed the packaging and upped the price! Unfortunately, we'll be looking for something else. **The ingredients/nutritional information section does not match what the packaging pictures show. Always double check your ingredients! The picture of the ingredients are what you're actually getting.
I would buy this again
Logan, my dog just loves this food. He can't wait to get it in the morning and evening feedings. He jumps around and makes these funny noises until he gets it. I never seen him react to any food like this before.
Vegan Friendly Food
Halo is pretty good. I needed a replacement for Natural Balance since they are experiencing shipping issues. I tried Halo and it is a bit gooey compared to Natural Balance. I think that Freely Food is a closer match to Natural Balance. Tiki's stool was slightly looser after eating Halo, but not after eating Freely Vegan Food.
