Prebiotics, Probiotics & Postbiotics
Halo gives you more than just probiotics to help support digestive health. While probiotics are important, helping to digest food, absorb nutrients and maintain gut health, they work even better when paired with prebiotics and postbiotics. Prebiotics feed and nourish good gut bacteria, creating the ideal environment for digestion. Postbiotics help support immune health and overall good health. Together, these three are a digestive health powerhouse!

I agree with the previous comment. The new formula changes are a downgrade in quality. subsitutions include pea powders in lieu of real peas. Most importantly, this powder replacement has lowered the fiber from max 8.0 to now 5.0. This is a big deal for the dogs digestion. My dog has been unable to properly digest this new formula, as it causes diarrhea and intensive scratching. His coat is now dry and flaky. Bad decision, to cut costs with inexpensive powders etc. $$
Mornings they get rotation freeze dry one day, raw, other , kibble other. I am plant base , therefore find a good balance this way . Thinking that it cuts down on slaughter ...beside my dogs love the veggie soup I make and pour over their food.
Not just the packaging but the formula has been updated. First ingredient in the older formula was Peas. Guess with rising costs, they had to replace that with Oats. See images for the color of the kibbe. The new one is black. Causing major stomach upset for my dog. Will move on to something else.
We are vegetarian/vegan. Halo is an all-plant-based company we can trust. Our new puppy does very well with Halo kibbles. No dead animals in our puppy's food! Only real food! Only the best!
We have been feeding this to our beagle for 7 years, her entire life. Yes, it is possible for dogs to be vegan. They are able to digest starch after their many thousands of years living with humans. This food has all the protein (from plants) and nutrients that dogs require and then some. Our dog is very healthy and happy. If you are reading this then you are perhaps thinking about trying vegan food for your dog because you understand that it doesn't make a lot of sense to kill certain types of animals (cows, pigs, chickens) and feed them to other animals (dogs), and claim to be an 'animal lover.' Thanks for reading this review and try the food with confidence and don't listen to those who say dogs have to eat meat - they don't.
My dogs doctor recommended a vegan diet for his allergies. I found Halo and gave it a try. My dog loves the food and he is no longer scratching, sneezing or paw licking.
This food is the only one that does not have any fish oil in it no salmon white fish etc. gave my dog a DNA test he’s highly allergic to fish highly allergic to fish. I am 66 years old when I was a young girl my mother told me you never give dogs fish. All these companies use fish in their product for their coats it’s the worst food source for dog They’re literally killing our dogs with these products and their foods and not being regulated.
Something was changed in the recipe! As soon as my dog started eating this new formula she started itching, her eyes were red and swollen. Please be careful!! I had to stop giving it to her as it was making her sick..
My Newfoundland has severe IBD and has not been able to keep any dog food down for over a year. I tried this after reading reviews and he loves it. He is on a small dose of prednisone which helps control his IBD symptoms but he loves this food and has put weight back on because of it. I am typically not a fan of a vegan diet for dogs but my dog has done so well on this that I would highly recommend.
I finally found a dog food that my dogs do not throw up. Thank you!
