Halo's protein sources cruelty free commitment to OrigiNative™ sourcing means that they say no to factory farming and close confinement, instead they choose to work with farmers and ranchers who raise cage-free flocks and pasture raised herds. Halo rejects the factory farm model of close confinement, animals raised with antibiotics, and genetically modified feeds. Instead, Halo fosters naturally raised animals, regenerative soils, and environmental balance. By sourcing cage free poultry, Halo strives to deliver natural protein sources that not only harken back to an era where all of our animals were respected but also serves to provide our companion animals with the high-quality proteins and nutrients they need for good health, shiny coats, and long lives at our sides. Halo's meat, poultry, and fish proteins are third-party certified (Global Animal Partnership or Marine Stewardship Council). They say yes to whole meat and non-GMO fruits and vegetables and no to rendered “meat meal,” artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

What exactly is "whitefish?" Is it Tilefish? Halibut? Cod? Snapper? Something else? A mixture of different white-fleshed fish? Would appreciate clarification before ordering for my cat. Thanks.

Whitefish in Halo recipes can be comprised of a wide range of fish like Atlantic cod, whiting, haddock, pollock, and others. The specific type used can be dependent on the catch, season etc. The term means white-fleshed fish which live on or near the bottom of the ocean. Our diets include quality, ethically sourced whitefish from MSC-certified fisheries.
