To measure for this head collar, place the measurement tape snug around the base of the dog's neck where the collar would sit.

Does this pull/jerk/twist the dog’s neck? Does it push on their throat?

The Halti Dog Headcollar is neck friendly, there is no pressure on the pets joints. It does not pull the dogs neck.

What is the difference between Halti nylon headcollar and the Halti opti fit dog headcollar?

Unlike the Halti Nylon Headcollar, the Halti Optifit Headcollar has an adjustable noseband and cheek straps to ensure it fits a wide range of nose shapes. However, this design is not suitable for flat-nosed dogs.

Does this have padding on part that touches the nose? Can't tell from pictures. Thanks!

There is padding under the nose band.

Pulls off easy

I was so excited this was my second time ordering a halter for my dog to try and get her to stop pulling when my daughter takes her for walks at first I thought

I was so excited this was my second time ordering a halter for my dog to try and get her to stop pulling when my daughter takes her for walks at first I thought this product was going to work but then Stella can still get her dew claw and pull it off and she has gotten out of it several times now so just like another product I have bought in from another site it didn't work for us I hope it works for others

Absolutely fantastic! I have a 6 mo old 50 lb lab and it works like a charm. I’ve tried another brand but it doesn’t work well with that short, wide muzzle. But, this Halti does! The nose strap has a nice cushion on it and it has a chin strap which makes it more stable. Great design, will buy another!! Check out the pic.

We’ve tried several harnesses- chest and nose type- on our 100-pound German Shepherd/Pittie mix who is very leash reactive. This one wins! I bought an extra just to be sure we have a replacement on hand but the original is in great condition. I love the built-in safety hook that connects to her collar. We’ve never needed it but it brings peace of mind. She does really well with this and I can control her even if she’s really crazy about another dog. And I have RA, so my hands don’t have the strength they once did. Highly recommended!

Works good.

My dog will stop pulling when I gently tug on it. Make sure to take your time to get them used to it being put on. It is not going to happen in just a few tries

Our dogs can remove in 1 second.

We always buy Halti leaders for our 55lb rescues, but this design, without the under chin clip is pretty useless. Both of our dogs can remove it, no matter how tight

We always buy Halti leaders for our 55lb rescues, but this design, without the under chin clip is pretty useless. Both of our dogs can remove it, no matter how tight it's adjusted. Going for walks, we have to stop all the time to put them back on. Bring the clips back!

We only used this headcollar about 10 times as we were transitioning from a more traditional harness. It definitely decreased pulling and made walks more enjoyable

We only used this headcollar about 10 times as we were transitioning from a more traditional harness. It definitely decreased pulling and made walks more enjoyable. However, around the 10th use, the headcollar broke which allowed our 40 lbs. 10-month-old rescue in training to escape (in busy Chicago!!!!). Fortunately we were able to get him back (with the help of some friendly neighbors) before anything really bad happened. The "safety" strap that connects the headcollar to your dogs regular neck collar is super thin and basically useless. Once that breaks, all a dog has to do is slip the headcollar (which is not terribly difficult to do) and they are free to run.

No pull face collar and harness

Unfortunately both my dogs won’t use it. One just stands there looking at me and won’t move. My other one goes nuts screaming and jumping all over the place swapping

It’s crazy with this product on them. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to being able to use it.

Works well!

He is a puller on the leash but this worked well! After he got desensatized from something on his face and stopped pawing it, with chicken as a treat.

I have an 80 lb. boxer whit TONS of energy. He uses size LARGE, medium was too tight I had to return. This collar is comfortable, very durable and easy to use. There's even padding on the top part where it sits on the nose. It took a few days for him to get used to it this is normal. We used it shorts periods at a time until it became irrelevant to him. This has been a game changer for us. It is washable but DO NOT PUT IN DRYER it will shrink one whole size. Air drying it will keep its original fit.
