Does it have to be diluted? Could I just add the powder to her food?

Answer by ChewySep 23, 2021
This supplement can be sprinkled directly into your dog's food. However, it is recommended to make into a paste with broth or coconut oil, since it contains more fat and can better absorbed by your pet.

How are you supposed to use this it says mix with 1/2 cup water and microwave. Does that mean the whole container 3.5 ounces, or does that mean a teaspoon?

Answer by ChewySep 10, 2021
To use this paste, we recommend you add one part powder to two parts water, heat for about five minutes over medium heat (or microwave for about two minutes), stirring occasionally to create a paste. This will also help activate the curcumin found in the paste. The recommended dosages are as follows: Small dogs should start with about ¼ teaspoon per day. Medium dogs should start with ½ teaspoon per day. Large dogs should start with ¾ teaspoon per day. Extra-large dogs should start with 1 teaspoon per day, gradually increasing to as much as 1 tablespoon.

Will this help shrink lipomas?

Answer by ChewyMar 10, 2021
This supplement can slow aging and degeneration, help fight cancer and increase your pup’s lifespan.

Will the effectiveness of ingredients be impacted if I freeze paste to make treats?

PSA Add Pumpkin to Help with Taste :)

I haven’t been using this long honestly but my vet said it definitelu cannot hurt. So I wanted to leave a review in case it helps anyone whose dog doesn’t like/wont eat it because of the taste- my dog had the same initial reaction and I almost gave up but recently found a solution. In short: Mix with pumpkin! It really cuts the turmeric smell and taste. Long version: Found a lump on my dog’s shoulder, took her in, within 24 hrs everything changed it was diagnosed as a mast cell tumor. I was losing it and desperate for anything I could give her to help and came across this product. She did not like the taste but thankfully the vet was great and her excision surgery was days after. The anesthesia gave her a really upset tummy for days so I skipped the turmeric and started giving her pumpkin digestive supplement. Pathology came back good thank goodness and now that she’s back on her normal routine I decided to try reintroducing turmeric. She did give me the side eye at first but when mixed with pumpkin she eats it all up. She also had some teeth pulled so what we’ve been doing is her kibble mixed with warm water or bone broth to soften it- first I put in the warm liquid, then the dose of turmeric powder, then the pumpkin supplement (Diggin brand “Firm up! pumpkin” supplement), stir well, then add the kibble. Let the food sit until the liquid is mostly absorbed and bon apetit :)

This seems like a quality product.

I mix it in with her kibble and add a bit of water. She seems to be fine with the taste. She has a bad knee, so I mostly wanted it to try and keep inflammation

I read the reviews and was hopeful, our rat terrier female has mammary tumors in her breast. I bought the golden paste and made it in the microwave. I put the broth and powder in together and stirred it as it cooked. She didn't like the taste, but I hid it in her can food, and we also put good grade cbd oil on the tumors themselves (not in her food) and in 2 weeks the tumors have shrunk way down, but they are still there. I only do the golden paste for 10-12 days at a time, keeping it in the refrigerator so it didn't get warm and spoil after cooking it then I give her a couple weeks without it. She has had several 10 day treatments now. She is going to be 14 yrs. old this year and she has lots of energy. I don't know if I'm doing everything right, but we see an improvement. Sometimes the paste bothers her stomach, but it's better than chemo. Everyone has to be their own judge. The paste is only good for about 12 days and by day 14 or 15 it gets mold on it, so that's why I only do 12 days .

The ingredients and quality are great but there's no way I'd ever be able to get the recommended dosage into my 90+ lb. lab. I bought this with the intention of making a broth to add to his food which I admittedly did not try out of laziness. I just scooped a little into his food dish and added a little boiling water before adding his food. The most I give him at a time is 1/8 tsp. Any more I believe is too strong for him to want to eat. Then I looked at what his recommended dosage and it would be more than 2 full teaspoons a day. Even with divided dosage I doubt I could get my dog to eat a full tsp of this in his food. Other than that it was a good product to keep around when I felt he was dealing with inflammation, allergies or immune issues. I'd like to give this another go this time making a broth with it using bone broth instead of water to make it palatable. I don't like that there is no Autoship discount for this. I use Chewy Autoship to save money and I'm seeing more and more items I use not eligible for any discount. Defeats the purpose of using them.
