Feeding Instructions

Fill your pet bird’s food container with as much food as it will consume in a 24 hour period. Usually for parrots (African Greys, Amazons, and Eclectus), the portion may range between ½ to ¾ cup of food per bird. For Macaws and Cockatoos, the portion may range between 1 cup and 1¼ cups of food per bird. Adjust the portions to meet your bird’s specific dietary needs. Supplement this diet with fresh fruits and vegetables. Remove uneaten food and seed hulls and clean food dish before refilling with new food. Always maintain fresh drinking water for your pet bird.

Transition Instructions

While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.

Not all seed feeds are created equally

By Lisa on Jan 7, 2021

Gave this a try as I received an email stating the normal brand (Volkman) I use to buy on Chewy’s is discontinued. Well, this definitely isn’t the same quality, at all! Seeds are tiny and immature, it feels powdery and is low quality. I only use this as treats but this isn’t even treat worthy. Disappointed because my parrot and I were so spoiled with Volkman’s. Really wish I still had a handful left of the Volkman so that I could show the two products side by side in this review.

    Parrots love it!

By Alejandra on Jan 31, 2021

Sprinkle a little of this on top of our parrots' Harrisons pellets and fresh chop. They love it, and I like that it's all natural!

    My Quaker didn't like

By Mollytwoshoes on Jan 19, 2020

He tossed out all of the fruit and left the rest for me to throw away. A waste of money. Had to leave one star as no stars is not an option.

    Not worth it

By GJern on Sep 10, 2019

This seed mixture had so many huge pieces of cinnamon in it- was crazy. My bird has not ate hardly any of these seeds. Definitely won’t buy this again.

    Love this food!

By Mboo on Aug 27, 2019

This is one of the best African grey foods out there. I feed it with confidence. Top of the line quality. Lots of variety in the mix. And while cinnamon sticks!

    not impressed

By hiker on May 6, 2019

I ordered this to try something new for our African Grey and Cockatoo-both 30 years old. Although there were some different treats included in this seed I found it was too powdery(maybe the sage?) and not clean enough. Our birds weren't eating it and I threw out half the bag. The cockatoo did enjoy the cinnamon sticks. Back to my trusted standby of Higgins Safflower Gold.

    Great food

By Schnauzer on Apr 12, 2019

This is made in America with no preservatives. Colorful and healthy choices to eat due to the various fruit and nuts in it.My African Grey adapted to this quite fast. It is more expensive than what I had him on before, but there is very little waste from this food (he would throw out what he did not like).

    Good stuff

By GabbysDad on Apr 26, 2019

Very good indigence for many large parrots. My picky two, cockatoo and eclectus don't eat everything but different things so it is good for both. I like the fruit and nuts. I mix it with other dry foods so it goes longer.
