Feeding Instructions

Higgins Protein Egg Food can be fed dry or moist. DRY - Sprinkle approximately 2 tablespoons (1oz) per bird of Protein Egg Food over your bird’s existing regular dry food or serve in a separate treat cup. MOIST – In a small cup, moisten approximately 2 tablespoons (1oz) per bird of Protein Egg Food with about a teaspoon of purified water or just enough to moisten the egg food. Feed in a separate treat cup. For added variety, you can mix in fresh, chopped, soft fruits or add Sunburst Leafy Greens & Herbs. Remove any uneaten food from your bird’s cage daily and discard.

Transition Instructions

While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.

    Strange smell

    By on

This product has a very sour smell. Isn’t expired. I usually like Higgins products. I may purchase another bag to compare. I like feeding this occasionally when molting or egg laying.

    Higgins Protein Egg Bird Food

    By on

I have 39 canaries, not one of them will eat this egg food.... They eagerly look for fresh food, they jump down to this when I put it in the cage, they try a bite, then leave it.... I have tried for four days now...... I love Chewy's service, just sorry I tried this product.

    Birds would not eat it

My 2 cockatiels were not the least bit interested. Did not even look at it. Dogs were more interested than the birds.
