My Eclectus used to go wild for Crazy Corn's "Rainforest Rice Pudding," which I think this is based on. It's fairly similar. Smells about the same, but it doesn't have as much banana, which is what my boy loves most. I add some (dehydrated) prior to cooking and he's enjoying it. Only complaint is that the rice in it seems pre-cooked. I can pour boiling water on it and soak it for 8 (up to 20!) minutes, per the instructions, and much of the rice stays very hard. Since rice is the main ingredient, that's not great. It doesn't really seem to soften unless I actually cook it - that is, keep it boiling for at least 5 minutes. If this was really a soak and serve option, and not something I had to cook in big batches, it'd be perfect!
I have been using Higgins cook-ables for years now. It is the fav for my Finch's. So glad you offer it. Its easy to prepare.
Didn't know I was going to have to cook this. Way too much for a parakeet to eat before going bad.
It was a Christmas present I guess he enjoyed the treat
