When introducing new food to your bird, place a layer of Bird Street Bistro over your bird's regular food in their normal feeding dish. Your bird will pick through the Bistro and start eating it in a few days. Bird Street Bistro can be a very important part of your bird's diet along with a variety of healthy seeds, pellets, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Consult with your avian veterinarian about your bird's dietary needs. For more information please visit our blog on 7 ways to introduce healthy foods to your parrot.
In a medium saucepan, bring 2-1/4 cups (530ml) of water and 1 cup (235ml) of Hearty Veggies to a boil. Cover with tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
*Note: As altitude increases and atmospheric pressure decreases, the boiling point of water decreases. To compensate for the lower boiling point of water, the cooking time must be increased.

Jingles is a 26 year female Congo African Gray parrot. Quite intelligent and often picky eaters. She took to the Bird Street Bistro Hearty Veggies immediately. I am excited since she lost weight a few years ago and even the Vet could not figure out why. Her weight comes and goes so I try to keep feeding balanced meals. She never stopped eating or whistling and talks only when she thinks you are not watching her. She prefers Hearty Veggies in the afternoon.
Two of my 6 parrots loved it. I don't ever recall a parrot licking the bowl. In case you're wondering... my female Electus and my female ACG are the lovers of this. The other 4 were picky at best. After 28 years of feeding parrots, new feeding tricks are necessary. I guess it's a kin to forging, but I've found success (lately) when I can sprinkle their main dish around among the little greens and fruits. :) I know I'm wordy, but what I saying is the food is not the sprinkle kind .
My Cocketiel eats but does not seem to get very excited about food...He absolutely loves this...so happy to have found something that he finally loves!
Our birds have had a daily cooked breakfast for 35 years. Bird Street Bistro in many flavors is the "go to" feast for a long time, now. Hearty Veggies is the favorite blend for the Amazons. From the human's perspective, it is assuring to know that the parrots get a good mixture of food to begin their day.
None of my 6 parakeets eat it. They just remove out of the dish and through it out. I tried to slowly introduce it without success.
My caique had always been picky, and it is a CHORE to get him to eat veggies. I was pleasantly surprised that once I made it and offered some, he dove right in and kept going back for more! And honestly,it smells really good actually.
I've had trouble in the past getting my 2 cockatiels to try new foods. I figured I'd give this a try and they immediately loved it! I give it to them every day and they usually eat almost all of it. Will definitely be buying this again!
I actually offer them both seed & Bird Bistro. They always go to the BSB first. Once it is gone, then they go to the seed. Definitely would recommend.
Over the years I haven’t found too much that interests my cockatoos especially in the way of cooked food..unless I made something for myself of course! However the Bird Street Bistro may just have done the trick! My toos really like it and I’ve tried it with my conure and the rest of the flock, cockatiels and parakeets. The conure seemed to like it and a few of the cockatiels liked it. Overall I’d say it was pretty well received so I will be buying again!
Cooks up easily, even smells good, but my fussy eater Caique wouldn’t touch it day after day of trying.
