I've tried all of the flavors of this product, and my Quaker absolutely loves the Tuscan Dream option. Easy to prepare (3 ounces of water and 1 minute in the microwave). Tango is a little guy, so I squash this out in a freezer bag flat and use a butter knife to separate into little squares, freeze, and break off a chunk every morning to add to his commercial food.
I have two handraised European Starlings that love this treat. They get excited when they see this dish and it's gone within 2 hours. I boil a small amount of water and add a small amout of the packet and let it soak for 15-20 minutes to make the package last longer with no waste.
My birds loves this product. They don’t waste near as much.
Our bird guy told us to make the whole (small, 2 oz) bag. Sometimes we also cook a tiny amount of rice or pasts to chop and add to the food. Then we spoon it into an ice cube tray, freeze for a few hours, then transfer the 'cubes' to a zip lock freezer bag. We get about 8 cubes per small bag. This is an easy way to have it on hand for the mornings! We take one out the night before to defrost and it easily feeds both birds. Add some veg (our birds love romaine) and it's a very nutritious start to the day!
I often use this as a base for my chop, because the whole flock love it. From the lovebirds, to the Cockatiel, to my Meyers, Hahns, and a B&G Macaw. My Hahns recognizes the bag when she sees it and I can't keep her out of the kitchen when making it. It's really quick and easy to fix up and then just a couple of minutes to cool down. I just throw in a handful of veggies I've chopped with the food processor about a minute before it's done to slightly steam cook them. It's a good way to sneak fresh veggies in if your bird is resisting chop. We are never without a bag of Tuscan Dream in the house.
Gave this to my Cag he tried it but thats it wouldn't eat any more of it then that.
birds love this! Its definitely a nice treat to give them and so nutritious. Chewy though lost our order.
This is my birds favorite food. I give it to them daily.
