My two cats LOVE this food. I bought a bag to see if it would help with my older kitties vomiting. We tried all of the prescription foods, limited ingredient foods, grain free, chicken free, everything. She did “okay” on the natures domain salmon and sweet potato food, but still vomited some. As soon as I gave her a few bites of this food, she was obsessed! I mixed it in with their old food, and they picked these kibbles out and left the old stuff! With the kibble being larger, it forces her to actually CHEW her food, resulting in her not regurgitating. Both of my cats love this stuff.
Literally got it in the mail opened it gave it to the cat who is so excited to have new food. He has teeth problems so I thought this would be perfect. The kibble is so big and he because he has teeth problems doesn’t have a whole lot of teeth so he can’t chew it & this has now done me no good. I wish it said extra large kibble. He normally eats the Hills Science Diet, sensitive stomach and that size kibble is fine. This is 3 times that size.
This looks like its good for some, but our Siamese guy DID NOT like this food when we tried it in the past. The food pellets were pretty hard. We are trying everything we can to get him to eat a full meal. We have been feeding him wet food (Freshpet/Reveal) free of dyes/chems. We give him dental toys/treats. He'll eat catnip Greenies, but heard it is not a trusted brand for our furbabies. He has Peridontal disease, has gotten some teeth removed. Anyone have any tips, please share. ❤️ Looking at trying some water additives again. I have been brushing his teeth nightly.
Probably haven't been using it long enough to notice a difference in their teeth and also most of my cats won't eat it by itself. If I mix it with their old food, they do. I have one cat that seems to like it by itself. The problem I think they're having is the bites are very big. I suppose that is intentional, but, except for one, they don't handle it well.
I got this after seeing it on a few lists of "best foods for older cats with bad teeth" hoping to find an easily chewable food for my old boy. It is the largest and hardest kibble I think I've ever seen, the cat loved it but couldn't eat it without water. I tried to break it up but it was too hard. This food, I'm sure, must do exactly what it says and cleans those teeth up while chewing but I wouldn't recommend it for our older friends!
My cat immediately went over to try and eat the Oral Care food, but the kibble was so BIG he couldn't even crunch or chew a piece of it. Very disappointing. I tried crushing it some, to small crumbles which he showed some interest in, but not worth doing. I will need to donate this product or get my money back.
I ordered this food for my Sr cat hoping it would be easy for him to eat - morsels are very large (much larger than Purina One), so it was a no go. Trying to get other cats to eat with no luck thus far.
Yes, definitely the best, according to PoppySeed and Cotton Candy! In the past they have tried many but never ate it again! This one they really like!
I had read the reviews about how big these are, and I was worried my cats might not be able to eat it, but that wasn't the case. Both of my cats LOVE this food. I've been mixing it with their other dry food and my older 12-yr old cat will leave her wet food bowl when she sees me filling the dry food bowl (never did this before), then she picks out the oral care food and will only eat this. The size does not bother her at all. My younger cat is small--only 10 pounds, and he also has no trouble with the bigger pieces. They both really enjoy it, which is great because it is next to impossible for me to brush their teeth.
After rescuing my cat, it was noticed that his teeth health wasn’t the greatest. I tried brushing and water additive but it didn’t help. This food has his gums looking clean and healthy and his teeth looking a lot better.
