My older cat was overweight. So I decided to try Hills science diet perfect weight. That was 6 months ago. She developed a skin condition. Than she stopped eating all together. She lost so much weight not eating. I gave her some leftover food I had from before. She scarfed that right down. She will not touch the Hills anymore. I will not buy that overpriced junk anymore. Almost killed my cat.
No weight loss.
I had higher hopes for this food. My chubby cat hasn’t lost weight and has even put on a little! This is the only good he eats at scheduled eating times with very little treats on the side. It’s just too expensive to keep hoping he will lose weight. Maybe the feeding guide is incorrect? I followed it to a T. He has been eating this food for over a year and no success.
Chubby cat on a diet!
My vet recommended Hill’s Science Diet which Gino took to immediately. With two cats it’s tricky for me to monitor how much each eats. After an obvious weight gain I switched to this lower calorie option and happily they like it. Gino’s on the way to being svelte again.
Smooth transition
My cats get small can of wet food morning & night. I keep bowl of dry out during day while @ work . They went from kitten to adult in Hills with no issues. 5 years old now and vet recommended switching to this to keep weight they are at now. Once again smooth transition- they both love this dry food
Perfect Weight?
There’s really nothing wrong with this food, except maybe the name. We fed our cat the maintenance amount according to his weight, and he gained, not maintained. He’s now on the weight loss amount, and is slowly losing weight, but experiencing some food anxiety. He does love it, though.
Amazing
I truly cannot get over this food. Nala weighed 13.8lb in April, and is now down to 11lb thanks to this diet. I have never seen a weight control food work as well as this one does. I'm sure it helps that Nala is also very active, but I gotta give the food some credit. She also loves the taste! Anyone with an overweight cat, I strongly reccomend you try this!
Thought it would be better but...
Vet suggested that I switch to this to help my cat lose weight and how her digestion system would accept it. WRONG!!! I gave it to her for a few days and literally after an hour or so, she was vomiting in various places around the house. I switched to Iams weight loss and the vomiting has completely stopped. I still had over 3/4 of a bag and into the woods it was dumped so that it'll break down and dissolve. I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!!
Unsatisfied
Food items are fine. For the third time the box was dropped in front of garage door visible to everyone driving by and blocking the car from entering or leaving the garage. It is time to take a break for future orders. The Xmas crunch may only make this worse in future orders.
My cat loves this cat food and he is nice and healthy
His coat is soft and shiny and he is in great form at 11-12 lbs and 5 years old. He is active and curious like a kitten. I had 2 cats previous to my current cat and I fed them the same food and they died at 18.5 and 19.5 respectively.
Good stuff for big eaters
I’ve got a big red tabby with a big appetite, and in truth, he rather eat a pile of Temptations than his “good food.” This dry changed that, and because it’s a weight management formula, I feel okay about my eager eater.
