My 10 yr old cat scratches all the time. Will this food help him?
Answer by SharonDec 04, 2022
Barring a flea infestation, cats will scratch excessively if they have a food allergy. An allergy test by vet can confirm specifics. With food, wheat is #1 irritant and when removed from diet will improve cat’s quality of life. Most cats can tolerate rice and oats, some need grain-free food. Switch food, allow 4 weeks to see results. If itching continues, try grain-free. Follow 7-day transition rule to avoid stomach upset.

Does this food require a vet’s prescription? Thanks.
Answer by ChewyOct 28, 2021
This variety is not a prescription diet food, it does not require veterinarian authorization for purchase.

Just about Perfect

I've been feeding my two cats this dry food for six months and couldn't be happier with the results. There have been no stomach issues and both cats' coats are noticeably softer, smoother, and glossier. The ten-year old tuxedo has always had a nice soft coat which now gleams. The six-month old tabby, a rescue, had a coarse coat, which I thought was natural for him--not so, as he is starting to feel as soft to the touch as the older cat. The tuxedo has food sensitivities, the young tabby has asthma and this food is good for both of them.

Contains sugar

I purchased this item at the recommendation of my animal hospital for some of my cats who have skin and stomach issues. The cats seemed to enjoy the taste but started drinking a lot of water. I looked at the ingredients and found out this food contains fructooligosaccharides which was very concerning to me, especially to be a "healthy" food. It also didn't improve their skin or stomachs at all. I do not recommend.

Best I've Found

I have an older cat who has digestive and hair ball issues that have been better on digestive kibble, but were still happening too often. She is a perfectly healthy indoor cat other than that. This is the one kibble I haven't tried until now. She still has the issues occasionally, but after a couple of months of observing, this food helps the most!

Cat gaining weight, pooping less

My cat seems to like how this food tastes and she vomits less but since starting her on it her skin has gotten dry and flaky, she’s gained some weight, and she’s pooping less. I accidentally got an auto ship of another bag which I’ll have to donate now and switch her asap. Im sure this works for some cats but not mine.

Life saver

This is the only food that seems to agree with one of my cats who has a sensitive stomach due to neglect from his previous owners. Chewy also was able to ship it out to me sooner than expected when my usual retailer was out of stock making sure I didn't have to settle for the next best thing.

Stops vomiting

My older cat was vomiting almost daily. Of course we went to the vet and she checked out just fine. We switched her to this sensitive stomach food and the vomiting has stopped. Highly recommended for sensitive stomach cats

Perfect For My Kitty

My sweet kitty eats this food because he has a sensitive stomach. Since starting this food he seems to digest this better and he has stopped throwing up. It’s expensive but he is worth it. I have other cats and they seem to like this food also, so it’s a win/win.

Cats love this!

One of my cats has a sensitive stomach, so I pretty much have to feed all of them the same food, because they can't keep their paws out of each others dishes. Well, every one of my cats absolutely LOVE this food! Very happy on this diet.

Works to stop excessive vomiting

One of our cats began vomiting once or twice a week. Over time the occurrence of vomiting increased. Both cats were on Purina Sensitive Stomach dry food. When vomiting with this cat increased to every other day, I decided to switch food before getting medical tests done. Ever since we bought this food, slowly switching from the former food over a week, the vomiting has only happened three times.

So far so good

I just started this with my cats. I am mixing it with their other food to get them acclimated to it. I am also using it as "treats" for them. Both of our cats like it.
