Does this product contain mica?

If I normally buy my regular clumping litter in 40lb bags, how much of this will I need to get the same amount of litter volume-wise?

Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2018
This litter is over 50% lighter. The 8.5 pound jug equals 20 pounds of leading clumping litters. The 12 pound pail equals 27 pound of leading clumping litters and the 17 pound pail equals 35 pounds of leading clumping litters.

What minerals are used in this product?

Answer by ChewyAug 02, 2019
Tidy Cats litter contains sodium bentonite, perlite, and charcoal in it. The lightweight core used in their LightWeight litter is composed of perlite. It is safe to use in consumer products or food. Scooping litters commonly contain Sodium Bentonite, but rest assured, all of Tidy Cats litter is non-toxic, as such, there are no ingredients that are harmful to people or pets. Tidy Cats conduct extensive testing of their litter products, including for dust, and a safety review by a veterinary toxicologist of all materials used in the manufacturing process.

Does it has a handle to carry?

Answer by ChewyJul 09, 2019

I really wanted this to work as my cat likes it over what we've been using and I'm desperate to find him an unscented, dustless, lightweight litter that works for both of us and won't break my bank. It doesn't absorb or clump fast enough. My old man has some kidney issues and drinks lots of water. What happens is that the litter turns into a mud, and spreads out until it's on his feet, legs, and fupa. Then I have to chase him down and use wet wipes to get the sludge off him then reclean the whole house. It makes cleaning the litter box difficult as the pee mud just smears around as I wipe. It also tracks all over. I hoped the larger granules wouldn't, but daily I'd find litter all over the house regardless of how diligent I cleaned and vacuumed.

I have had cats for 60 years, and I have never had these horrible problems with litter. I was looking for a light weight, unscented litter. I used conventional clay litter for years, and I never experienced so much dust! There is white dust all over my house. There are mud footprints on the floors and the furniture, not to mention on my clothes and the bed when they jump up. There are white granules from the litter tracked everywhere, all the time. My long haired cats carry litter granules on their fur, in their paws. It does not form scoopable clumps. The only good thing about it is that it is unscented.

Want a High-Tracking Litter That Turns Into Clay Sludge? This Is for You

This is hands-down the worst litter I have ever used. The litter granules get stuck between my cat’s toes and in the fur around his backside after every trip to the litter box, so I’m finding litter EVERYWHERE. I’ve had to vacuum 1-2x daily just to keep up with it. To make matters worse, this stuff doesn’t absorb anything - within about 4-5 days, the clay was so moist that my cat was tracking clay sludge around the house and leaving clay-colored stains on my couch, bedspread, etc. The sludge even caked in-between my cat’s toes so I have to manually wash his paws to remove it. He’s constantly shaking his legs to get the globs off, so I’m finding pee-soaked clay globs stuck to walls and all over my floor. And again - this is all within 4-5 days of use and scooping 1-2x/day. Shame on Purina - this is a terrible product

I get this litter all the time. With 4 cats I need a lot of litter. I got my order today (01/09/26) and opened the box only to find litter all over the place. I had 2 cases (4 8.5lb jugs) of litter in the box and 3 lids were very loose and one lid was completely off! I don't blame Chewy or FedEx (for once). This was a Tidy Cats issue. Chewy was understanding and they are replacing the one case that had half empty jug in it. I think Chewy needs to get with Tidy Cats and let them know that their quality control is very lapse.

I thought my old senior kitty would benefit from a lighter litter from the Slide she always uses. Not the case. Camille already has bad allergies that require monthly injections. This product stuck and tracked all over the carpet and hardwood floors. It stuck in her paws as well. The dust it created exaserbated her itching and the scratching she did to her face, caused her to scratch her eye so bad, that it stayed closed for hours. The litter and dust got in her eyes. It is back to the heavy Slide which always worked well but is just to heavy to carry up a flight of stairs when your suffer back issues. I can't recommend this. I threw the open box away and will donate the second box unopened.

I have been using this litter for several years once I discovered it. It is lightweight and easy to carry, it has no perfumes and most importantly no dust. The only drawback is that it tracks around the house easier. I have mostly solved that with a step for the litter box that has a great that the litter falls through into the lower chamber. Italso makes it easier for my cat to get into the litter box. My main reason for switching to the lightweight litter was when I had the roll n clean litter box that would come apart inside with normal heavylitter. But I have since changed to robotic boxes and may go back to heavier litter as when my cat steps into the lightweight litter heseems to sink in deeper and doesn’t seem to like that.

I cannot understand the reviews that say low dust, tracking, and good clumping. What litter are they describing? I have dried litter tracks on my wood floors, and sometimes on my sheets!!! I’ve tried 2 different kinds of the light weight, and they’re equally terrible!!! They discontinued the light weight Arm and Hammer Clump and Seal which I used for years. It did everything the description said. I had to throw out a stick vacuum, due to the amount of dust coating the filter. The worst litter ever.

Lightweight

I’ve tried many different kinds of litter and this one is what I’ve decided on. The weight really makes a difference! I can carry a bag of used litter to the dumpster

I’ve tried many different kinds of litter and this one is what I’ve decided on. The weight really makes a difference! I can carry a bag of used litter to the dumpster across the parking lot in just one go, rather than needing to stop a few times along the way like I had to before with regular weight litter. I also like that it is unscented and has minimal dust. The price is also reasonable, which cannot be said for many other litters I’ve seen. I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes, and getting 2 jugs every 3 weeks on Autoship works well, though I occasionally have to grab an extra one at the store.

I never write reviews but this litter is so dusty that everything in my 2400 sqft house is covered in litter dust, dusty cat prints, or a litter sludge. It got all over the walls and floors as well as our furniture. A bit extreme but this pushed us to just replace the flooring in the house (it was already up for consideration but this pushed us over the edge). Avoid this at all costs.

It’s a box with a plastic sac of litter. You can’t easily pour into the litter box and the directions are to tear off the top of the box. Yeah a big box of opened cat litter (with a huge opening) is not at all conducive to how cats are. This will get knocked over so soon with a big mess.
