Where it All Began

Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. Their team supports a network of over 10,000 Himalayan farmers who handcraft these ancient hard cheese chews for dogs around the world. Tradition + Innovation

Combining ancient traditions with modern innovation, Himalayan Pet Supply chews start in the Himalayan mountains at over 15,000 feet, near Mount Everest. They are crafted with a winning combination of yak and cow milk and are 100% free from preservatives and binding agents. And since they are made for dogs, they are completely free from lactose, gluten, grain, soy, corn and wheat!

Serving Pets and the Community

Himalayan Pet Supply took part in passing the first laws in Nepal, allowing farmers to insure their livestock as capital. They also support the health and safety of farmers, their livestock and therefore the health and safety of the dogs who enjoy their treats. Doing Good One Chew at a Time

Every chew sold supports Chews 4 Literacy and for every pound of cheese chewed, a book is donated to a library in Nepal through the Manaram Foundation. Himalayan Pet Supply also donates 100% of profits from their toy line to the Women’s Skill Development Center.

In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. Himalayan Pet Supply has grown from a small company attending local pet fairs, to now a global company that’s made their mark in the pet industry by creating a new chew category for dogs.

How do you no that they are made in a sanitary environment and not full of bacteria?

Himalayan Chews doesn't use a manufacturing facility to make their Himalayan Dog Chews. Instead they collect the finished product from rural community co-ops in the Himalayas (currently Eastern Nepal and the mountains of West Bengal in India), which they traditional methods in making it for human consumption as well. They are then shipped to their facility in Mukilteo, WA where they're inspected for quality and packaging.

Himalayan dog chews

Both my dogs loved these. I had read that these are good for dogs that like to chew. When they get small you can soak them in water and then put them in the microwave

Both my dogs loved these. I had read that these are good for dogs that like to chew. When they get small you can soak them in water and then put them in the microwave and they will puff up like a big cheese puff, so there is no waste and the dogs can't choke on small pieces like some other chews.

Not for medium to strong chewers

I bought these after a friend had recommended them to keep my dogs busy. I was told they were long lasting and other reviews stated the same. These didn’t last 5

These didn’t last 5 minutes before they had them down to nubs. If you are looking for a rawhide alternative to keep your medium to strong chewing dogs occupied, these are not it. Especially not for the price paid.

Great long lasting treats!

Both of my dogs love these. We use the boneheads and jugheads to keep them chewing them down too small and becoming a choking hazard. Once they get small soak them

Both of my dogs love these. We use the boneheads and jugheads to keep them chewing them down too small and becoming a choking hazard. Once they get small soak them in hot water for about 15 minutes then microwave for 60 seconds. Now your pups have a giant cheese poof!

This yak chew is the same size as other ones I’ve given my walker hound in the past which he’s been able to gnaw on for 30 mins or so. But this one broke into pieces
