Where it All Began
Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. Their team supports a network of over 10,000 Himalayan farmers who handcraft these ancient hard cheese chews for dogs around the world. Not only are these chews adored by pups and approved by pet parents, but they are also the only chews that are certified Fair Trade by the World Fair Trade Organization.
Tradition + Innovation
Combining ancient traditions with modern innovation, Himalayan Pet Supply chews start in the Himalayan mountains at over 15,000 feet, near Mount Everest. They are crafted with a winning combination of yak and cow milk and are 100% free from preservatives and binding agents. And since they are made for dogs, they are completely free from lactose, gluten, grain, soy, corn and wheat!

Serving Pets and the Community
Himalayan Pet Supply took part in passing the first laws in Nepal, allowing farmers to insure their livestock as capital. They also support the health and safety of farmers, their livestock and therefore the health and safety of the dogs who enjoy their treats. With rigid safety and hygiene requirements, you can rest assured that your pet is getting natural, high-quality, ethically sourced chews.
Doing Good One Chew at a Time
Every chew sold supports Chews 4 Literacy and for every pound of cheese chewed, a book is donated to a library in Nepal through the Manaram Foundation. They have built 175 libraries in Nepal providing resources for the farmer families who work hard to provide pets with fresh ingredients. Himalayan Pet Supply also donates 100% of profits from their toy line to the Women’s Skill Development Center.

About Himalayan Pet Supply
In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. Himalayan Pet Supply has grown from a small company attending local pet fairs, to now a global company that’s made their mark in the pet industry by creating a new chew category for dogs.

Finally a treat that lasts
By mkb4 on Feb 13, 2021
I am so happy to find a chew that lasts. I've bought bully sticks and my dog goes through those in a few minutes. Pigs ears take him 30 - 45 minutes, but I don't like that they make him choke, so no better than rawhide. This chew kept him occupied and he even eventually saw it as something more than a treat. He chewed on it some the next day and then on the 3rd day I was worried he would try to swallow it and choke, so I microwaved it when it was still about 4 inches long. Next time I will break in half. I was again pleasantly surprised because I thought it was be like a cheese puff and easy for him to eat, but it did take some work. Maybe because it was too big when I microwaved. I’ve loved these chews in the past, one of the best I’ve found! But similar to another comment, my most recent bag had chews that were dark brown and brittle- I have to watch my dog with them and am nervous to give them to her, as previous ones have lasted weeks but this newest batch breaks down quickly- she made it through half a chew in minutes! I’ve loved these in the past so I might try one more order, but if they come out similar I won’t be purchasing them anymore. Hoping it’s just a bad batch!

Great chews for tough chewers!
By ELC29 on Feb 20, 2021
So thrilled to find these chews. They last my tough chewers a long time and when they break them down I'm not worried about splinters, pieces too big to digest, or choking. I have a 47lb border collie, 40lb Boston Terrier mix, and a 15lb cairn terrier mix and it suits them all wonderfully. The price is great for the amount of time they last. We all know about spending a fortune to have toys or treats devoured in moments.

Love these
By Maybird on Feb 13, 2021
My Great Dane loves these and I love that they keep him occupied for more than 30 minutes. They are super hard and sometimes I worry about his teeth cracking with how aggressively he bites them. These are definitely suitable for heavier chewers. I dislike the little sticky bits they leave behind when he's done. However, these are the best deal I've found and I will continue to buy them just for the peace they bring to the household and the joy they bring to my dog.

They’re Ok.
By Blab on Feb 2, 2021
I had to buy this brand when the other brand is out of stock. This brand must not be as hard as my favorite brand. I thought they would all be the same but this brand doesn’t last as long. The girls (1 G.Shepherd and 1 Nor Elkhound) go through them much faster. G. Shep had it gone in an hour. The other brand I can let them chew for maybe 30 minutes then take it away for another day and maybe 1/4 is gone. I will buy these again as my favorite seems to be out of stock again, which is understandable these days. But I prefer the other brand. Love how I can microwave the remaining and they puff up for another treat.

A MUST HAVE
By jocy on Jan 28, 2021
I was so tired of those stinky slimy bully sticks that only lasted two days maybe so on chewy one day I thought I’d try these and OMG! I have an 8lb papillon and these are perfect for him! Not too big not too small but definitely big enough that he’ll be chewing on them for a couple weeks each! Once they’re about the size of my pinky I soak them in water and they puff up for a nice treat which is very flaky so be careful lol so yah for a large dog they need an xxl bc this size is best for small breeds

Great lasting treats for chewers!
By Kunhagirl on Feb 12, 2021
I recently discovered these treats for my Aussie Shepherd heavy chewer, and they are gamechangers! I plan to always keep on hand as they last longer than any other treat or bone I've found. The first one lasted a cumulative 3 hours! Now we're down to a solid 1-2 hours - still not bad for a heavy chewer. Additionally, I pack if sending for daycare with family and they appreciate it. Excellent appeaser and gives working dogs something to do.

It would take Jaws 30 minutes on these!!
By Beans on Feb 19, 2021
Our new favorite special treat! This is still keeping her busy almost a half an hour later. And I love that I don’t have to be too concerned when she is eating it like I am when she’s eating say a pig ear or a bully stick. Minimal choking hazard and easily digestible. Do your best friend a flavor and get them a pack of these!!!

Necessary For Super Chewers
By Kristen on Feb 4, 2021
Our pitbull/Aussie/husky mix is a big chewer, however, she refuses anything that isn’t a plush toy, a bully stick, or these Himalayan chews. We all know plush toys get destroyed in seconds, and now that she’s 10 months old, bully sticks don’t last long either. She deff prefers bully sticks, so I almost have to hold in it my hand for a few minutes before she decides to actually chew on it, but once she does, she looooves it. And we love it too because it’s long lasting.

Barely lasted a week
By cbull on Jan 14, 2021
I ordered these for my six month old GSD and when I received them I thought I’d be happy and they would last a while. I first night I gave her one she carried it across the kitchen floor and dropped it. It immediately shattered into small chunks so I of course had to throw it out so she wouldn’t choke on small pieces. The second one I took out of the package a few days later did the same thing. I looked at the third and you could see tiny cracks throughout the whole stick which I guess it what’s making it weak/shatter when dropped. For the money I paid I definitely expected better. Not going to get these again.
