I hate to leave a negative review but my cats won’t eat this at all. I wanted to try dehydrated food to add as a complement to their dry and wet food. I thought they would love it since they love broth-type meal toppers. Unfortunately one cat will not even sniff the bowl with the re-hydrated Honest Kitchen and the other cat will sniff the bowl then walk away. I have tried mixing in their wet food to entice them but they still aren’t interested. Unfortunately, The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food received two paws down from my cats.
I have been feeding my 10 year old tabby cat Honest Kitchen for years and he absolutely loves it. It took a few days to get used to, but once he did he gobbled it down in minutes. I wanted a healthier alternative to kibble, but something that felt convenient at the same time. It’s so easy to prepare, once you get the hang of it, and I feel as though it made his litter box less stinky too. Love, love, love this stuff!
My cat paws at her bowl when I'm trying to rehydrate her Honest Kitchen dehydrated food. I've tried all flavors with her and she enjoys them all. I've read where is important to feed cats a variety of foods and so far this brand has her attention the most.
Kitty simply will not eat this. As per manufacturer's suggestions, I tried mixing a tiny amount into the food he likes. If it's mixed into his food, he won't eat any of it. If I put it on the side, he will eat his regular food and not touch The Honest Kitchen Turkey. He is a cat who prefers the gravy or sauce that is a part of his canned food. I thought he would love this but he does not. Nothing I did enticed him to eat it. This food is much more expensive than his usual. Now I have a month supply of food that he will not eat. I like the fact that it is such a healthy food to serve but he won't eat it. I am disappointed.
I have several picky cats and a kitten. All of them enjoy this food and nobody has stomach issues with it. If anyone feels picky, I sprinkle a tiny bit of probiotic powder on it and they all gobble it right up. FortiFlora (I use the calming care variety) is a perfect topper. It’s good quality and I’m glad to not have to buy the kitten separate food. I also love that I’m not recycling a million little stinky cans anymore, instead I just have an airtight container of food. No more vomit. No heavy, bulky shipping or issues with damaged cans. I’m happy and so are they.
I’ve been trying to get my cats to like this food for the last 5 days now. They hate it and eat it as a last resort. Basically when they’re starving. I’ve even tried mixing in the canned fancy feast that they love and they still snub their nose up at it. I bought it because I’ve used this brand before with my elderly dog who really liked it and because I’m looking for a healthy alternative to dry foods and the cheap wet foods that they’re obsessed with. But I suppose it’s like feeding a kid cheap processed foods and then expecting them to eat their veggies and like it. They’re not having it and I’m so disappointed about it. I gave it 3 stars because I feels like it’s a healthy alternative to dry and/or cheap canned foods but my cats just aren’t eating it.
Decided to try this product when it was offered as a special deal. Both my cats (who are not picky eaters, as a rule) turned up their noses immediately. Fortunately I was able to salvage the product by disguising a teaspoonful into their regular wet food once a week. Will not buy again.
This line of food is wholesome and good for the animals. My dogs eat it every day along with some supplementing items. I do the same thing for the cats as The Honest Kitchen is not their favorite by itself. I suspect that without all the junk that is in Friskies, they think it is too healthy for them. I mix The Honest Kitchen with Friskies and other lower quality brands so that they are at least getting some nutrition from a better quality food. I would give it five stars for quality but the cats would only give it four.
My friend gave me some of this to try & it's now officially my favorite wet food. I love it & all 9 of my cats love it. I can feed it to my cat with chicken allergies & my elderly cat with teeth problems & even kittens. When mixed the food looks disgusting, but my cats think it's can food & meow for it. After I mix the powder with water I mix it with their dry kibble like I do when I feed them canned wet food. It's perfect. I love how I don't have to mess w/ stinky cans &/or recycling a gazillion cans since most wet food seems to come in smaller cans which is fine if you have a couple of cats, but I have 9. Great food to mix w/ kibble.
I mixed a small amount of the food with the ground turkey breast I cook for my cat who has IBD and several food and grain allergies. She sniffed it for a little while and then she ate. What a relief. Now I prepare it in the consistency of pate, which she loves and I alternatively mix it with the ground turkey breast. I am so grateful to The Honest Kitchen. Do I recommend it? A thousand times yes!!
