How many cups are in a 10 pound box?
Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2019
The 4 pound box contains approximately 16 dry-measured cups which will make close to 16 pounds of food. The 10 pound box contains approximately 40 dry-measured cups which will make close to 40 pounds of food.

I am feeding this to my doggies. Is it OK to top it off with boiled chicken? Just a little? They like it but I can't see the actual meat and it makes me feel bad, like I'm not giving them a good meal.
Answer by ChewyJul 07, 2018
The 4 pound box contains 7 pounds of chicken and the 10 pound box contains 19 pounds of chicken, prior to dehydration of the ingredients. You may add other ingredients as wanted, please keep in mind your pets daily caloric intake and individual needs.

My corgis hate this one

My two (very food motivated corgis) hate this flavor. They love the other Honest Kitchen dehydrated foods, but this one... Just doesn't do it for them. like they leave food in their bowls which is unheard of. I switched to a different flavor and they went back to licking every crumb and drop in their bowls.

My dog LOVES this

I switched Bella’s for back in December. I heat it up before I give it to her. She actually cries waiting for the microwave to beep! Her favorite food yet!!

Dog approved!!!!

Although this food is on the expensive side, it has been a great addition to my dog’s diet. He is allergic to the world, it seems. This food is added to his homemade diet of chicken, pumpkin, carrot and cottage cheese. My son’s dogs are always trying to lick his bowl when he is done!!!! Thanks for the clean recipe for a 13 year old, allergy prone dog!

Not what i expected

The food is not what i expected. I thought there would be slightly more fruit in the ingredients and less herbs. My dog does not like it whatsoever. I have tried for the last week or so to try to get him to eat it. Tried enhancing it but he just won't eat it. I don't blame him it looks very oatmeal soupy like and heavy smell of herbs. Maybe other dogs enjoy it but not my lil guy and none of of enjoyed the smell of the one with chicken. I plan on finding out how to return it.

Great for my old dog

I found this for my 13 year old Aussie who has lost some teeth and has always been a fussy eater. So good to see him bury his nose in his dish til it's gone. He seems to be more energetic as well- been eating eat for over a month now. And his stool isn't loose anymore either!

Great Topper

Highly recommend. My bullmastiffs love it. Due to their large size I mix half & half with the dehydrated kibble from same brand. I add a little water and mix (not soupy). Also love the fact that it doesn’t smell like canned dog food, it smells like real food . No more stinky canned food smell in the fridge & sink

Elke is getting older so I wanted to give her something in addition to her kibble. My acupuncturist recommended this dog food. It doesn’t look like much but she really loves it.

Yummmmmmyyyyyy

My 12 year old Maltese has almost no teeth and stopped eating. I bought him this and he loves it! He’s finally out on weight and is acting like a puppy again!

Hmm Hmm Good

This was our first purchase of one of the Limited Ingredient Foods. We have been feeding Honest Kitchen for about 5 years. It's always a hit with my dogs. The Limited Ingredient Chicken seems to need less water than others we've tried. I know they love it when they are licking their bowls all over the kitchen.

Big Hit with 3 Dogs, Helped Allergies

I have 2 dogs, and a 3rd weekly "guest" at the house. All 3 lose their minds (one hops up and down, he is so happy) when I put down bowls of THK dehydrated. We've tried all but the fish, the collective favorite appearing to be chicken. I got this for my Belgian Terv with mystery allergies so bad he gnawed his paws raw and bloody. The many trips to the vet, the pills, the shots, the special "rub on" or "shampoo in" remedies - nothing helped. The vet eventually concluded that the Terv "probably" has food allergies and recommended a hypoallergenic food manufactured by either of two brands that ... I just don't trust. A friend recommended we try this, and over 3-4 months he is MUCH improved. He's incredibly picky and would prefer the grain free, but I switched to limited ingredient to eliminate the ingredients most likely to be causing the allergies (he'd always been on grain free foods, so obviously it was something else). All 3 dogs are now eating and love HK dehydrated, with two eating the grain free, and the Belgian on limited. Yes, it's expensive (fortunately the other 2 are small dogs) and it's unappealing to look at, but they go wild over it. I read that someone found it thick like oatmeal, true - especially the duck (least favorite of theirs, BTW). I water mine down until it's slightly more "soupy," which they seem to prefer. I'd give it "5 plus," but at the risk of being gross - let's say I use three times the yard cleanup bags I did before going to this food.
