This is one of the only feeds with minimal clean ingredients available in the US from Dr. Kellon's list (ECIR Group). My only reason for taking off two points is that over the last couple of years, it has experienced a price increase of over 50%. The pandemic is not an excuse because in Europe and the UK, the price went back down after 2021. Price aside, my very picky 24 y/o mare eats this fine, as a base for her meds and supplements. It's a pelleted feed; therefore, we feed it soaked to avoid choking.

I have a 17 yo PRE who gaines weight on air. Last year he suffered an injury taking him out of work for over a year. I began looking for an alternative feed for weight control while he recovered. I switched to Hygain Zero on the recommendation of a friend and it’s been great. Now that he’s back in work I have continued with Hygain Zero, just adding a bit more to his daily ration. Highly recommend for an easy keeper like my guy!

Good for horses with allergies

My horse is allergic to flax and soy! There is nothing else on the market.

Picky mare will eat!

I have a metabolic mare, with dental issues, I was nervous to buy this because of the price in case she didn’t like it. She inhales it and it seems to work fine. So happy I found a feed that is the appropriate nsc levels for all her health issues. Glad chewy carries it, Hygain also has great customer service if you need any help deciding which feed to choose.

Hygain is an excellent feed and my metabolic horse is doing wonderful on it

My only issue is not with the feed it is with the box that the feed is shipped in. If Chewy ships horse feed in the 24x17x8 box the feed arrives in good condition

My only issue is not with the feed it is with the box that the feed is shipped in. If Chewy ships horse feed in the 24x17x8 box the feed arrives in good condition. If the horse feed is shipped in the 30x17x8 box, the bag of feed breaks open in the box and is loose in the box. The feed is also falling out of the box onto my barn floor and I am sure feed is falling out inside the FedEx truck during delivery. The extra 6 inches with the 30 inch the box size to bend and allows the bag to move around inside causing the bag to break open. I have received several damaged bags when shipped in the 30 inch box. I will photograph in the future if this happens again.
