The ear candy are washed in a food grade hydrogen peroxide solution to remove dirt, debris, and other impurities. The ear is then cooked and dried in an oven. I and Love and You prohibits its suppliers from using chemicals such as bleach, glycerin, or other unapproved cleaning products during processing and cooking.

Are these treated with irradiation?

I and love and You currently sources their Ear Candy Cow Ears from approved suppliers located in South America. Their cow ears come from free-range and grass-fed cattle that are raised in countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. When the cow ears arrive into the USA, they undergo an approved and safe irradiation method to reduce the risk associated with pathogenic organisms, like salmonella. I and love and You conduct further testing after irradiation to further assure that their customers are receiving the safest product possible.
