My dog really liked these when I first ordered them, when I ordered them a 2nd time, 2 of the 3 are partially black like they're burnt and he won't touch them. Really disappointing since there are only 3 so I only got 1 good one and had to throw the other 2 away.
My dog prefers the curly bully sticks to the straight ones. I have no idea why but she does, so that's what she gets. I have noticed the last couple bags these have been a bit thinner almost like their beef gullet springs. When we previously bought them, they were much thicker and took her a lot longer to chew. However, she lost interest in them faster. These new bags seem thinner and easier for her to chew so they don't last as long. I realize these will always vary in some way, but it's interesting that 6 bully sticks in two different bags are all the same and thin compared to previous bags. She does love them though and they keep her entertained, but now I really have to limit them as she can eat them much faster.
So I purchased these for about 6 months in 2020 and they were good because my dog was younger but the quality of them (size and thickness) was eh. Recently purchased and my Labrador devoured his in 5 minutes. My Pomsky seems to have his be more long lasting. So maybe these are not for big dogs, I consider both of my dogs heavy chewers.
I gave this product 5 stars on behalf of our dog Sunny. She loves them. The problem today for us is the increase in all costs for all dog treats. We love being a chewy customer, but the costs are preventing us from buying treats any more.
We received our package of the curly bully sticks and 2 were regular length but one was about 1/3 of the length of the others. Disappointing for the cost.
We buy these treats in bulk as Amadeus is a notorious chewer and he prefers the curly chews instead of the braided chews as he looks to grip onto them with chewing and these make it sure easy.
These are much thinner than the bully sticks of the same brand and size that are just straight bully sticks. They are also very brittle and break easy so because of the majority I have bought coming like that I don’t recommend. The twist is nice that it can be twirled through a puzzle toy like kong genius or the nerf dog toys of similar style and keep your dog entertained for longer than the minute solo. However most of these come so thin it breaks in my hand when I go to twirl it through the toy that has ample room and little resistance to hold this size chew. Then a few chomps and it is eaten, again because it is thin and brittle. Not worth it sadly
These are wide and unlike any bully stick my Silky has ever had. They might work for larger dogs but not for littles. Id recommend for bigger dogs but not for little ones
The sticks splintered immediately & maybe related to the GI distress requiring an emergency vet visit. Previous bully sticks were enjoyed without any health issues.
These are the "go to" treat on rainy days! Our 8 year old Aussie LOVES them & is always the first one done (she would also gladly take a 2nd chew). SO glad we found these & SO glad they're safely made in the USA.
