What makes this cat food good for hairball control?

This recipe contains powdered cellulose and ground miscanthus grass, which are both sources of insoluble fiber. Together, they help bring the crude fiber level to 5% (as-fed). That extra fiber is there to help support hairball control by moving hair through the digestive system more efficiently. Research suggests that increased stool volume and faster transit time may reduce the likelihood of hairballs forming. That said, because the exact cause of hairballs isn’t fully understood, fiber supplementation should always be balanced. Too much insoluble fiber can sometimes cause digestive upset or interfere with nutrient absorption, so our formula includes a moderate amount. We also carefully consider the fiber type alongside protein and fat sources to make sure the diet stays well-rounded and nutritious.

Is this food made with human grade ingredients? Is it lightly cooked or is it made like standard kibbles?

While the ingredients are very high quality, once they are sourced and shipped to a pet food production facility, they are no longer considered by the USDA to be human-grade. This food is cooked like a standard kibble.

Cat didn’t like it

I was looking for a chicken-free, grain-free dry food with higher fiber and thought this looked good. Unfortunately, my cat only ate this the very first day I gave

I was looking for a chicken-free, grain-free dry food with higher fiber and thought this looked good. Unfortunately, my cat only ate this the very first day I gave it to her, and after that she lost all interest. I know she’s particular about her food, but I thought this was worth a shot. I don’t know if it was the kernel size that bugged her (it is smaller than what she’s had) or if it was the whitefish. So, unfortunately I’m back on the hunt for a dry food that ticks all boxes and is kitty approved.

She has always been very soft, but she's even softer since the switch. And while she was having hairballs almost daily before, she gets them less than once a week now. I have a cat that is allergic to chicken and both cats have been blocked by hairballs.. I give them canned food besides the dry.. I looked high and low for a healthy fish only hairball support that is not prescription. They are already on prescription dry and canned for urinary support..a chicken free prescription for anything just doesn't exist. I was thrilled to finally find and try this food. Not one hairball since adding this into their bowls. I mix it with the. Science diet urinary support prescription 1/2 and 1/2.. I also added 2 fountains. No more trips to the vet for constipation hairballs!

expensive but worth it for chicken allergy, and they recycle!

Annoying to have a chicken allergy because of expensive foods, but this was a yummy option. I love that you can send them their bags back for recycling for free
