Hello my new shipment I’m afraid the heat may have ruined the food. arrived but the consistency seems different. Instead of a jelly like sauce it’s watery. Like it pours out.

there seems to be a jelly like substance that settles on the top of the food when it is opened. You indicate no preservatives, however, what is this and is it safe for my cat to eat?

It's not uncommon to find some gel in our wet foods. The gel is fat that can settle at the top of the food during the cooking process. We suggest mixing this in with the rest of the product before feeding. This helps to give the food more palatability so a pet can enjoy the food a little more.

How many servings would I feed to an 8lb cat each day?

Really like the small portions. Both of our cats love it. As far as it being hard to open, I just cut around the inside edge of the foil and then peel it back

Really like the small portions. Both of our cats love it. As far as it being hard to open, I just cut around the inside edge of the foil and then peel it back. Saves a lot of tugging with the tab. I actually like that it is hard to open with the tab, in saying that it is telling me that it is sealed really good! Will definitely continue feeding our cats this Iams brand. They love their chicken!

The cats like the food "okay" but I won't buy it again for the issues trying to get it open - sometimes easy, sometime hard. When I manage to get it open, the slippery broth often spills on my fingers making getting the next one open nearly impossible. If I want just one of the pair, sometimes they both will pop open during the process of getting them separated, just enough to need to refrigerate the unwanted one for safety. I dread feeding this food and will be glad when it is gone!

great for feeding small portions throughout the day.

The only problem is that with each new order they seem to be slightly different and it takes maybe 3 days for Kitty to get used to the new order. I don't know why
