About IAMS
IAMS is driven by a philosophy of innovation and an emphasis on advanced pet nutrition. Through extensive research and a unique understanding of dietary requirements for dogs and cats, they've developed diets that help pets thrive. Their formulas meet the everyday needs of pets and their owners with options for every household. IAMS is a leader in pet nutrition that has provided 60 years of nutritional excellence with innovative products that help improve the health of pets worldwide.
I purchased this IAMS senior food several years back when I had older cats: 15 and 17 up until they were 17 and 19. I still use IAMS and each age range: kitten, adult, and senior have been loved by my cats.
I appreciate the coloring to help me organize for my multiple cats and the sturdiness of the bags so my cats don’t tear into them and eat more than they should, because my cats do love this food and would eat more than they need, and would definitely be overweight if not… haha!

IAMS Senior Cat
I've always kept my pets on IAMS cat and dog foods, even after it was sold to Mars Co. I talked to one of their scientists, and I'm a firm believer that this brand of food has been researched, and made to give your pets the nutrition they do really need. Exorbitant costs do not project the health of your pet food.

My cats love it
We stoped prescription food for my cats a year ago and tried many brands since then. But my cats are a little picky on their food until we found IMAS, and they finally started eating regularly. Love this product!

Too big
Like all dry cat food, the bags are too large. Cats like fresh food only, and these bags are impossible to keep fresh due to their size. For some strange reason no cat food companies get it. Our cat ate this twice then shunned it.

Pleasantly surprised!
All 4 of my cats are now seniors and all 4 of them have some sort of digestive issues. Trying to find a kibble they can all tolerate and actually eat has been a difficult, if not impossible quest! I liked the ingredients in IAMS ProActive Health Healthy Senior Dry Cat Food and the nutritional stats. I offered them each some as a "treat" and did the mix-50%-with-old-kibble thing for aweek when I noticed that they were eating the IAMS out of the mix and leaving the old stuff! So i just went to feeding them the IAMS and there was no vomitting or hesitation! I was surprised! These kitties are so picky! I did notice some more hair-balls coming up (a good thing though!) and there is an increase in the stinky poos in the box, but even my highly allergic girl is doing better! So I hope this formula will stay the same for a while and my kitties do not rebel. I like the size of the kibble too. I only feed babyfood meats mixed with their individual medicines once a day, no more canned food! (It was such a waste with none of them eating anything I tried from a can from the bargain meat-onlies up to the ones that cost more than i spent on my own food! They would not even eat homemade...) So we are very pleased and pleasantly surprised. I can afford IAMS because I am not wasting money on the canned stuff. ~~And yes, my cats are good water drinkers and it is not an issue with them eating primarily kibble...

Good Dry Cat Food
My sister has had senior cats since I moved in with her almost 3 years now, and this has been a fan favorite for most of them. We are now dealing with younger cats and kittens and guess what? They like it too, so there must be something to this food, only drawback is that it is an expensive brand but it is a good brand nonetheless.

Good food for seniors
Been feeding Iams high protein food to one of my young shop cats who came to me looking a bit underweight- so thought I’d try their senior kibble to add as an evening”snack” for my senior indoor cat. Perfect small size for the senior (even though he doesn’t have any dental issues), and it must have good flavor judging by how he scarfs it up!

He finally ate something!
I have an older Maine Coon that was losing weight. He would not eat dry, wet, lickables, etc. Yet followed me everywhere crying. I tried this and he ate it!!!

Couldn't pay a cat to eat it
Tried to find a senior food for my cats. This is not it. My cats HATED it. So I figured I'm try feeding it to the stray cats in my neighborhood, which, there are about 8 of them. Watching on a camera that's set-up, even the strays turn their nose at it. Not sure why all the cats hate this so much, but i don't reccommend.
