I purchased this product because the packaging said it was organic but it is not. If you look at the photo of this product on Chewy and the product I received you will see that the product on Chewy is advertised as being organic when in reality it is not. No where on my packaging does it say these seeds are organic. I purchased this and some Smartkat grass seed kits and the Smartykat brand seeds have sprouted but these seeds (which say they sprout in 2 - 3 days) have not done anything. I definitely would not recommend these seeds to anyone. I will continue to purchase Smartykat grass seeds as I have always had success with them and they are actually organic.
This is seriously the best grass ever! I have two small pots that I use. I plant one and it sprouts with in 2 - 3 days without fail. Once it starts getting a bit rough looking, I plant the second one so that my kitty girl always has fresh grass. She loves it! Her morning routine is scratching her post, then eating grass, and finally going to the kitchen to politely ask me for food! For the grass, I use Miracle Grow Organic potting soil. When planting, I water with about a half cup of water and I cover it with plastic wrap and set it in a dark corner. I notice that there is a bit of condensation on the plastic wrap the day before it sprouts. Once I can see the grass, I put it in a sunny window and be sure to keep the soil damp. It lasts a long time and looks really nice too!
I followed the instructions and only 3 blades of grass grew. That only tells me that the seeds are old and will not sprout.
My momma (Lisa Lynn Backus) planted this stuff, and in a few days big green sprouts were shooting outta the pot. She placed it in front of me, I ran to investigate, and found them very tasty! Now I have to tell my brother Parmy! (or maybe I won't - hehehe!!!)
These seeds are very easy to grow. I did not follow the instructions on the packaging exactly. I soaked the seeds first before planting them in soil. Some seeds sprout late after a week, probably because of cold temperatures in March this year, but eventually they grow so beautifully. Cats love it!
Our cats can hardly wait for this grass to grow! It sure beats the stuff they have to munch on outside...
I planted these for my daughter’s two cats. They green to 3” in one week. The boys love it!
I wanted seeds that grow fast and taste good. Proper soil is important too. These seeds grew fast. So far, all 4 cats love snacking on it. They aren't allowed outside.
Lacy has grass before breakfast everyday
My foster kittens enjoyed exploring and chewing on the oak grass.
