Where are the ingredients sourced? And specifically, is anything from China?

Instinct by Nature's Variety sources the majority of their ingredients from the U.S. and turns to other locations only as needed. All of their poultry, pork, and fish come from the U.S. (salmon meal from the U.S./Canada/Chile). Their fish is fresh-caught from the Atlantic and Pacific. Their beef and lamb are from the U.S., venison is from the U.S. and New Zealand, and our rabbit is from France. The vegetables and fruits are from the U.S.and Europe. Their vitamins and minerals are from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

This food isn't toxic for cats if consumed, but cannot be fed as a complete diet as it doesn't contain all the nutrients or appropriate levels of nutrients for cats.
Are the Instinct canned varieties raw??

NOT HAPPY!

Chewy was out of the regular 12/case of canned foods I have auto shipped for one of our dogs. I was offered a substitute at a "discount". It was still quite expensive, especially since it I found it's only SIX cans instead of the usual 12. I will never order this again, and am re-thinking my other regular dog food orders through Chewy.

Good and bad

My dog loves it, but it gives her severe diarrhea. (And yes I gradually introduced it into her diet. Too bad, because it seems to be one of her favorite kinds she has tried yet.

Over-Priced

Buyer beware. This stuff is outrageously expensive. Only a 6-can case. I didn't notice when I picked it as a substitute for either of the two brands I'd normally buy... but are out of stock. Lamb must be hard to come by this year.

My dog did not like it

Maybe it was the texture (pate), maybe it was the taste. Most likely it was probably just the fact she is 100 percent spoiled and didn't want to eat something healthy.

Instinct Lamb canned food

My dog loves it and must only eat lamb pork or salmon...Instinct brand lamb is his favorite, however the price for just 6 cans is way too much...I can get 12 cans of other brands for the price of 6 cans of instinct brand...so sorry Clyde you will just have to eat your 2nd favorite...

Stomach Issues

Unfortunately Kelly, my golden Retriever was not able to tolerate this food. She had stomach issue. She has so many allergies ...she has been tested by an allergist.. She is allergic to almost every protein. She eats Acana Lamb and Pumpkin Recipe Diet Wholesome Grains, Limited Ingredient.. I tried the can food to add to her food as she likes canned food. I only gave her small amounts to test the different food. Her stomach could handle the cannned food.....

excellent food

I ordered this for my Husky who is allergic to chicken. She is on a restricted diet and a subscription kibble. This is mixed with her dry kibble and she loves it with no sign of intolerance. I had a previous canned food from Instinct which was more like soup. Far too much water in it. This is a much better consistency.

Instinct wet dog food

I read on Dog Food Advisor that this was a good food so I use some to mix into kibble for my two dogs. I also add Wellactin and a probiotic and canned pumpkin. They like it!

Very expensive

For some reason, the app on my phone didn't show that only 6 cans were in a package. I made the mistake of assuming that there were 12, as are in a usual package. I've purchased this product before, but don't think I will in the future. I can make my own food for way less.

Working for Dog With Sensitive Stomach

Wanted to give my dog an alternative to ONLY prescription food, and I slowly incorporated this with the prescription kibble. Finally, Lily is weaned off the prescription canned food. Instinct is a brand I trust and limited ingredient a better risk for Lily's sensitive stomach. Working well; Lily's bowel movements are still firm - no diarrhea and no vomiting. Equally important, Lily devours her meals - she runs in circles during prep time. Appealing, moist (unlike some dried out brands), flavor choices!
