I bought this for our 8 lb cat, exclusively to go to and from the vet. She is more of a hider than anything else, so I wanted her to have a lot of room. When we first unboxed this crate I had pretty high hopes. One of the features I really liked is that it opens from the top so it's easy to get our cat in and out of it. It's been used maybe 5 times since we bought it about 9-10 months ago, and today I went to take her to the Vet and the clasp on the top fell off as I opened it. I'm attaching a photo for reference. I'm very sad that this broke after such little, gentle use. This crate is nearly brand new still!

Got an instant refund, thank you Chewy. I bought two. Makes me think that this is too cheap and not sturdy, and not sure I really want to use the other one. Once assembled it is pretty flexible, light weight plastic. It's cheap. I would have gone with more sturdy but I missed that in searching on line.

My cat loves sleeping in this crate and gets into it herself when it's time to go to bed. I trained her to sleep in another crate that I used for transport which was a lot smaller so that I'd know where she is if there's an emergency and we both have to leave the house fast in the overnight. Her favorite blanket is in this one and I cover the top with a smaller one for added security and room darkening. The carrier sits on her favorite Livingroom chair which has helped entice her in. She goes into it as she pleases throughout the day for cat naps. It's wonderful!

Even though it states up to 18lbs. My cat weighs less than that and she not only escaped from it but it felt like it was going to fall apart. The same happened with a lighter weight cat of mine. Nonetheless it serves its purpose. I use bungee cords around it so that my cats cannot escape. Carrier is a bit flimsy

I didn’t check my order right away, close enough, the lid is cracked in two places which I kind of repaired, but also if you push down just a small amount of pressure

This was almost perfect except for missing the fourth clamp for the lid. I ended up just zip-tying that side to use it as I needed it immediately and my app would

This was almost perfect except for missing the fourth clamp for the lid. I ended up just zip-tying that side to use it as I needed it immediately and my app would not allow me to contact Chewy for replacement or the missing piece. My cat still was able to use it for her first vet appointment.
