so how many quart to hold 15.5 lbs of dog food

Answer by ChewyAug 06, 2019
The amount the container will hold does depend on the kibble size and may vary. On average, the 15-quart container holds up to 12.5 pounds, the 28-quart holds up to 22 pounds, the 55-quart holds up to 42 pounds, and the 67-quart holds up to 60 pounds.

Would this be good to store cat litter? Instead of keeping the giant bags & trying to pour them out.

Answer by ChewyJun 24, 2018
Cat litter can absolutely be stored in these containers. Iris recommends only using the 15, 28, and 55-quart containers to store litter. The 15-quart container can hold up to 20.5 pounds of litter, the 28-quart container can hold up to 38.0 pounds of litter, and the 55-quart container can hold up to 69.0 pounds of litter.

Can it be used without the wheels?

Answer by ChewyJul 11, 2018
This container is able to stand on its own without the wheels.

What is the bottom dimension for the bin?

Answer by ChewyNov 15, 2020
The 15 quart is approximately 11 x 6 inches at the top and 9.5 x 4.5 inches at the bottom. The 28 quart is approximately 15.5 x 11 inches at the top and 13 x 8.5 inches at the bottom. The 55 quart is approximately 16.5 x 12 inches at the top and 13.5 x 9.5 inches at the bottom. The 67 quart is approximately 16.5 x 12 inches at the top and 14 x 9.5 inches at the bottom.

The container is not air tight and allowed moth larvae to form on the inside seal. The container is convenient with the wheels and up until this point we have enjoyed using it however the lack of seal makes it unusable overall.

I have bought 4 of these containers. Each container one by one wheels came off. They will re pop in. If you do pop them in back in, they come apart again. More pop back ins the worse they get. Chewy would not back this wheel problem. So I am stuck. I called them when the first one came apart. No dice. So I kept them. And, now the containers are ok but can't be moved. They work well for storage. Its just the wheels are a nightmare and very cheaply made. If you buy this without intent to move it around, then its a good container. However it is sold as with caster wheels to move and they are believe me CHEAP! My floors are solid wood no bumps. So its not an issue of uneven ground.

Sturdy and Air Tight

Very sturdy container. The wheels make it so much easier to work with. I ordered the darker color so that the kibble would not possibly be affected by the sunlight

Handy to have but doesn’t hold 45 pounds

A 45 lb bag of dog food will fit but the lid will not close for a few days until you’ve used some. It may be different if you pour the food container however I’ve always left my dog food in their bags to prevent the oils from the food absorbing into the plastic of the and also if there is a recall of dog food you can see the bag to know if your food was affected. So if you pour your kibble directly into this container it may hold 45 pounds but just keep in mind that if you keep yourfood in the bags it will take a few days of using food before you can shut the lid. Occasionally the lid has come off of this but it’s easy to put back on it has little plastic hinge on the back that you just put the hooks of the lid back into the slots and you’re good to . Wheels work nicely it makes moving the container very easy to sweep under or move to a different location or even when you get your of dog food you can roll the bin over to the door so you don’t have to drag the dog food over to put in the container. This is my second container my first one has been inuse for probably six or seven years by now and is used for cat food. I have used a fancier storage bin in the past but found that it didn’t work as well and was harder to deal with a screw off lid in this container

Does the job and stores out of the way.

I question the long term viability of this container. It feels a little too thin and too light to last very long. Having said that, It looks good and the wheels

covered in dust, boxes opened, scratches on surfaces

The boxes arrived already opened, and the products inside were literally covered in dust. I can't imagine why that would be, or why this company would send "new"

This container does not hold all of a 45 pound bag of dog food--it holds about 30 pounds of our dog's food!!
