I bought a Jolly Ball about 1 1/2 years ago that was slightly soft so my puppy could get her teeth in it and carry it around some. BUT, these rubber balls are like hard plastic not like a sturdy kick ball rubber or like the first I bought. Sad. I am returning all three sizes.
The scent made my dog love this ball. However, unlike the other large indestructible balls we have gotten that were a more flexible material, this is a hard hollow ball. I would definitely not bounce this ball to my dog because it could actually hurt to get hit in the face with it and she is an aggressive player sometimes. She is a chewer who loves to carry toys in her mouth, it took her less than 2 minutes to gouge her teeth into the ball and figure out how to carry it which seemed fine until an hour later when the ball was covered in sharp gouges that ended up scratching her chin and muzzle. This ball is probably great in the water but I would not recommend for the backyard if your dog likes to chew or pick up their toys.
Received it with unidentifiable marks on it, one which looks suspiciously nasty. I guess I'll just scrub it clean but it is a major disappointment. I have another of a different color I got as a gift and my lab loves it, had it come in better, safer condition, it would be 5 stars.
This is a great toy. My dog can bit it, and it just bounces right back and rounds out again. He really enjoys it.
I bought two of these balls - Pink and Orange - the ball will bounce and your can kick it around with your dog.
I have a 7 year old German Shepherd who is very rough with her toys and always destroys everything. This ball she literally cannot live without and has withstood SOOOO much!!!! She's not an aggressive dog but she has a very strong grip. She'll have 3 years with the ball in July and I'm going to replace it because it's time for her to get a new one and I feel bad seeing her play with half a ball lol but it still rolls and she loves it, no matter the condition. The ball has been through so much but it's lasted long enough and is still good enough to play with. Scarlett would always bite her ball and it would never disinflate. I highly recommend this ball to bigger and more playful dogs.
Adopted heeler mix will not pay with this ball. That said it seems like a good quality sturdy ball. It's thick walked but still "soft".
Ball seems very durable and nicely made…. Bounces high. BUT!!!… PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SIZE RECOMMENDATION SHOWN!!!! I have a 65lb dog…the guide says to use the 6”…. I assumed it would be more of a softer ball, but it is a dense durable rubber, it does not “squeeze”… my dog got it caught in her mouth…top and bottom teeth had punctured into the ball with her mouth as wide as she could open… after a few minutes, we were finally able to get it out of her mouth. I will probably be ordering the small size for her, because she will probably like it…. But do not make the same mistake I did when first ordering.
My one year old pup loves this ball. It bounces crazy and she has so much fun chasing it. The best thing is that she’s not been able to destroy it.
Our 73lbs lab boy loves this thing. We let him push it around and try to bite it, occasionally kicking and throwing it for him. Fun for both dog and owner! We actually don't let him play with this for extended periods of time, as he might get frustrated by the fact that he can't fit the whole thing in his mouth and carry it around. It's on the heavy side and sturdy, and I'm not worried that he'll destroy it anytime soon.
