FAQ

K-Plus Potassium Citrate Plus Cranberry

K-Plus Potassium Citrate Plus Cranberry Granules are formulated specifically for pets prone to urinary tract issues like urinary stones or recurrent urinary tract infections. The supplement is easy to administer, too.

Promotes Urinary Tract Health

The combination of potassium citrate and cranberry extract helps maintain a healthy urinary pH in pets. Potassium citrate helps prevent certain types of urinary stones, while cranberry extract helps prevent bacterial adherence to the bladder walls.

Reduces the Risk of Urinary Stones

K-Plus provides a supplemental source of potassium citrate, which inhibits the formation of calcium oxalate and struvite stones—two common types of urinary stones in dogs and cats.

Supports Bladder Health

Cranberry extract can have beneficial effects on the bladder by reducing the adherence of bacteria to the bladder walls. This helps prevent the colonization of harmful bacteria and supports a healthy bladder environment in pets.

ur instructions are vague and ambiguous. do u put it in food, water, etc. might be helpful to include how this should be administered

Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2020
K-Plus Potassium Citrate Plus Cranberry is formulated with a proprietary highly palatable chicken flavor base to ensure dog and cats readily consume the granules. It can be fed during mealtime (mixed with your pet's food) or fed after by itself.

Is this a supplement that can be used with any dog food or does it have to be given with prescription food or with a food that also is meant to support bladder health?

Answer by ChewyMay 01, 2018
This Supplement can be mixed in with any kind of food.

This is the only stuff I have found that helps my cat. But I just found out my cat is diabetic and this has sucrose in it! It’s at the bottom of the list...is it a no no for diabetic?

Answer by ChewyApr 17, 2018
It's recommended that you consult with your veterinarian regarding any medical issues before trying this product.

Does this have chicken protein in it?

Answer by ChewyJun 14, 2019
This doesn't contain chicken. For a complete list of ingredients, click the “Nutritional Info” tab, next to the “Description” tab, just under the product photos.

This product was recommended by my veterinarian for my Dalmation that is producing bladder stones to see if it will help disolve them or keep them from forming. Rex can be a bit of a picky eater at times and doesn't mind the taste. It is a powder and won't eat it dry but will eat it wet when I put water on his food. I've just started using this product so time will tell if it is going to help.

Just received this product today so starting with three stars based on first appearances and will update after a few days if changes. A single dose is a relatively large amount (at least a tablespoon) and is a sawdust consistency. Not noticing this is at least partially on me for not realizing how large the volume of a single dose is and not paying enough attention to the picture of the product itself. I ordered this for my cat with kidney disease as I was looking for a potassium citrate product to supplement both potassium and help with her metabolic acidosis and acidic urine. She is a VERY picky eater so I was hoping to be able to dissolve in some water and give it like a med. You can definitely NOT do that with the K-Plus. I didn't attempt to dissolve in water but I'm doubtful it would dissolve and even if it did it would take a large volume. I mixed it into a churu and currently have it sitting out hoping it will be consumed at some point overnight but based on my cat's initial reaction I'm not very hopeful.

My little dog ate it.

My little dog suffers from bladder stones but will not eat the special foods for it. This has been the one thing she eats when mixed into her food.

My dog Kelsie has been prone to utis for a few years. I first bought this product from my vet. Same product different packaging. Kelsie hasn't had a uti since I started giving it to her. The reason for 4 star is that one scoop mixed with her food was alot as she is only about 12 lbs and she had a hard time taking that much at once. So 1/2 scoop twice a day works best for her. She is 16 this year so she can be picky with the food. All in all I think its a great product. Dogs having a uti is so painful to watch.

My dog has been given K-plus with Hills C/D since he was a puppy because of urinary crystals when he was a puppy. He is now 9 and has never had urinary problems
